Me too. I'm curious if you mean stronger than 50/50 or another product altogether.
    Thanks, G

a wipe down with Prep sol will ensure any silicone or wax type product used in polishes and even oils will be removed...I find this works much better than a alc /water mix....it is used by body shops to prep the paint surface to be painted to ensure its clean of any contaminants that would hinder paint adhesion..so it will work great on wipe downs to make sure surface is clean of polish residues

I guess AR is referring to IPA or some PrepSol/PrepAll but I'm not sure.

    I use PrepAll myself.

If you are are going to use IPA, I would go 80/20 or stronger. I prefer a type of Prep Sol myself.

O-kay, Thanks ROCKET. I'll work on that. Just by the smell I almost thought that 50/50 was to strong...Go figure...

Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA): [Chemical Formula: (CH3)2 CHOH, Proper Name: Isopropanol]
Isopropyl alcohol contains approx. 70% isopropyl alcohol, is a colourless liquid with a pleasant odour. It is highly flammable and is found in alcohol sponges, cleaning agents, and rubbing alcohol (although some rubbing alcohols contain ethanol and / or oil) and is a good disinfectant.

Used in various dilutions it is used for removing adhesive residue, as a solvent for petroleum type stains. An IPA wipe-down is used after polishing to check the paint surface for any surface imperfections not removed by polishing. Fill a fine misting spray bottle with a 1:1 Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) / distilled water solution spray the paint surface, leave it to dwell for 30-45 seconds, agitate before wiping the paint surface with a clean, dry 100% cotton or micro fibre towel

With 70% strength isopropyl alcohol in order to obtain a 1:1 ratio (50/50 % mixture) use 2 parts alcohol to 1 part distilled water (See relevant sections for usage and dilution used.) Mix solution in a spray bottle, spray onto clean paint surface, and wipe off with a micro fibre towel.

After the paint surface has been subjected to a chemical cleaning its protective layer (s) have been removed and the paint surface left without protection, so it is very important that a wax or polymer protection be applied immediately.
