I've never actually tried layering, besides wax over sealant. How many layers of a certain product have you done at most? Any downside/maximum amount/looks differences?
If I were using Pinnacle souveran and I wanted to layer. No more than four layers...Don't forget you have to let the wax cure for about 24 hours between layers...:thumb: The down side is your arms get tired...:giggle:
I saw a pic somewhere that a guy had 50 layers of Zaino, I think... But I would add no more than 2, since more that that can be considered a waste of product.
That would be Marc from the UK and yes, he put I believe 51 coats of Zaino on his new Astra because someone else had put 50 on theirs. I think he also followed up with a half dozen or so coats of Crystal Rock. Even he said after 8 coats you could no longer see any difference. If you haven't read the write up, its a beauty. Go to DW and look under projects and restorations in their studio section. You'll need a half hour to read it.
Yes, I remember that project, and it was a beauty! But it took me almost 2 hours due to a slow connection

I did 5 coats of 845 on a silver Honda Accord. It did increase its looks a a bit. More wet than the Accord across my house lol
Personally, I cannot really see the difference of ANYTHING after perhaps 3 layers. I am going to start layering Souveran on it and see how that works...
Well this is just my :2cents: but it seems that some waxes seem to add a bit more compared to other. Example, I've layered Victoria Concourse (sorry for spelling I mean the red one) and the second layer added a bit more..but to be honest I wasn't sure if it wasent just my eyes acting up..you know like when there is nothing there to see but your brain tells you there is something there and your eyes get fooled...well just my opinion though. Now if you take Vintage, Vintage is odd because the first coat requires at least a week or so to cure then the second coat will take just as much to cure but the thing with Vintage is that it takes at least a day or two to truly show what it's made of...it's kinda odd and I'm not sure if I'm the only one who sees this but that's just something I've noticed. As to a limit in the amount of layers, well with Vintage I haven't found it but with Victoria and a few other Swissvax waxes I would have to say that 5 is probably the max..after at least 5 I'm scratching my head at the finish...I honestly can't seem to tell the difference. Vintage is odd though..but that's just my :2cents:
