Price Increase for Solaris?!

To multi billionaires, spending $45K on wax is like you or I spending $45 on wax, not a big deal. A drop in the bucket, heck not even a drop in the bucket. To the billionaire it is just a status thing to keep their ego inflated. A guy I know bought a shotgun made in Germany cost him $6,000. I would never pay that much for a gun but I don't have the passion for shooting nor a salary anywhere near his. Heck, my car (2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse) isn't even worht $6,000 if I recall correctly.

Keep in mind, the average joe on the street thinks people like us are idiots for what we spend on taking car of our cars. $45 for wax? Why when you can get Turtle Wax for $9.99. It is all relative to the size of your paycheck and your passions.

 

I noticed the price of Vintage went over 2K also.

Really? I mean if you want to pay for a wax that costs as much, even more than a car thats your choice, but how much do you think you'll get out of it. Wax really only adds a very little, the rest is prep.

 

it's not looks, it's a status thing. It makes the purchaser happy to know he has the most expensive wax.

 

It better at least come with a reach-around.

Who cares really. No one has bought any that I know off. I know if I had the money I would buy it as im sure many of you would. I do really wonder how it looks.

 

For that much money I'll just get the Jeep repainted every couple months instead of waxing it. lol

Maybe we can get a better price in a group buy? lol If 90 of us chip in $500 we could all get to do a test spot on our cars.

It probably looks just like their 200 dollar Concours which looks just like P21's 50 dollar 100% Carnuaba which looks like... Well, you get the idea. Wax can only do so much. You are better off spending 500 bucks on prep work IMHO.

You don't actually think that people buy 30k wax do you? Id Zymol sold more than 1 or 2 I would be shocked. I question if they even sold 1 or 2 of them.

 

Im sure some people do. Why do people buy ferraris porsche etc etc because they are the supposed best. Same with the zymol solaris. The only wax that ive used that has without a doubt improved the finish on a car is cg ezyme. How is that p21s 100% anyway. I hear durability sucks.

 

I know I do see a difference after a 50-100 dollar wax and a 200 dollar + wax. But you have to get up on concorso or better.

 

Question is do you REALLY notice a difference or is it psycholgical? It's funny how our minds are trained to think. For example, weightloss pills or videos train us to think that they work especially when you actually follow the instructions. Was it the pill or was it doing the proper steps to a healthy lifestyle? My answer is following the steps not the pill or video. May seem like a totally different thing but sit back and think a bit. If you go in with the mindset that it is superior to another in the end it will be superior.
Just my two cents. Boy I can't wait for my Smaragd to arrive!

 

I guess the only way to tell would to to complete a double blind test of sorts. The person making the judgments can't have any economic tie with the products in question and shouldn't know what waxes were applied to what panel. Is this realistic? Probably not, with the internet it's very easy for someone to make something crappy sound good.

 

I wonder what solaris smells like?
