Once the 50D is readily available the market is going to be flooded with killer deals on used 40D's. Same goes for the 5D once it's predecessor is released. A full frame camera that still has better high ISO performance than most of it's competition for $1500 or less is hard to beat. They key is picking a brand you feel good about sticking with and invest in quality glass. You can always upgrade bodies.
I have a D70 but it is out of commission until I get a hardware bug fixed, great camera for the money though
Look into Pentax k2000 thats coming out. for $700 you getting good camera, lens and external flash, not a bad deal im planning to get K200D couse my dad has K20 so i will be able to share his lenses selling my olympus 570uz visit this site http://dpreview.com/ very helpful with what companies have and they have forum as well
Im taking a serious look at the 5DMkII. I would need to sell my XTI to fund it. How soon are you looking to buy?
camera is good but lens is not http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Sony/sony_dslra300.asp lens review Conclusion - Pros * Extended focal length range compared to other kit lenses (70mm vs 55mm) * Extremely low light falloff * Generally consistent image quality across most of the range Conclusion - Cons * Chromatic aberration from 18mm to 35mm * Soft corners at most focal lengths and apertures * Poor manual focus ring
ok guys, now i am in the same boat. i need advice on a good camera since my birthday is coming up month end and i am going to SEMA and want to try it out there. i am leaning hard toward the D200, is that too much camera? i like the ISO features but i like the D300 better, but the price is a little steep right now. i have looked at the D80 and D90 but they just dont seem to give enough features.
friend has a d200 and loves it. i've used it and pics came out great. but i dont know enough of the features to use more of them. only used it once. i want for cars i work on, kids, car shows, vacations, all around to document my life in photos
^^^^then i dont see point of getting d300, more expencive, not that much more pixels. go here and check both out side by side and see if extra money you would pay is worth it Digital Camera Product Reviews: Digital Photography Review
