well i do understand a lil.

recently i purchased a set of wheels.. actually back in february and design was in progress.. well to make a long story short(well the hell of waiting and production delays) i got the wheels last Tuesday. ruining my whole summer on the track b/c i had blizzaks on the stock wheels... last summer i waited for a different set from the same company and i didn't get them till September. so i sold them in anticipation of what i really wanted a neez qd7 for non neez price.

to make things worse i got had to get the wheels in a different finish b/c they were having a ridiculous time trying to polish the face down. after the season i will send them back. but when i got them i took them straight to the dealer to have them put on and the tpms and everything.

i got a call the day they were supposed to be ready and wouldn't you know it one had been dropped by fedex and has a gash in the top of the wheel line. then from the coater they gashed the top of the wheel on 3 of them.. plus there was a crazy adhesive under where the tire would go as well right where the tpms sensor has to lay perfectly flat. the adhesive ate through a 5 coat process into the 8000 ton forged aluminum. i was so pissed off. so now i have wheels with tons of defects hell a piece of tape has actually been painted over.

    i cannot believe this happened.

    tape painted over

3-4 gashes on top of wheel

    1 chipped gashed top line

    1 overspray under clear coat

most is all covered by the tires but the gash/chip from fedex and the clerarcoat issue has got to go.

thankfully i was having them refinished after the season.. but i can't stand it.. i spent 8 hours detailing yesterday. and getting the wheels just right.

if a dealer or body shop did that to one of my cars which similar stuff has happened. not to the point of respraying that many panels, but a few so i can imagine.

    Good Luck buddy!!!

I would quit screwing around with these clowns and have your lawyer send them a letter. It doesn't have to be threatening, but a letter from your lawyer will probably get something happening for you.

you need to get a letter written up and i would let your laywer let them know there are other damages as well beyond repair such as lwyer fees.. i think they would change their minds.. but i would leave it in your lawyers hands and call it a day. don't waste any more of your time these assholes!!!!!!

Tell me about it. Worst case, I have to go to Speedliner themselves. Speedliner UK recommend these companies to me, even after saying that I wanted the best person to do the job and I didn't care where they were in the UK or how much it cost, I just didnt want my van messed up.

The Speedliner man said " What do you expect in this environment" meaning his paint shop. Then the other company where suppose to be picking it up, but I think it got left there for a couple of days before it got picked up.

I still can't get over one of the companies saying that "you don't want to p*ss him off" meaning the other guy who was doing the speedlining. Some kind of threat do you think?

Its like they have just laughed at my list of do's and don'ts and just carried on regardless.

I would have to agree, you went out of your way provided them with the do's and don'ts list and they still ignored your requests...I too would get lawyers involved, other wise the issue will never go a way..shame though a brand new vehicle with so many flaws now :shakehead:

Keep us posted paul, good luck.

That really sucks to hear Paul. If they don't do something to fix or reimburse you somehow personally then there must be a way to get them legally.

So far I my Solicitor bill is £4200, more than the cost of the job which made this mess.

Within 28 days I will hear the companies defense, I can't wait too see this!!

Spoke to Speedliner UK today, to be told that "all vans have dents, even new Lamborghini's have dents".

Luckily the company who supplied the van and the Mercedes dealership are happy to do what they can to help.

    The case continues....

    Kind Regards
    Paul

    Sorry to hear this Paul.

People with that kind of mentality do not deserve to be in the automotive field.

I hope you win in court and can recoupe both the cost for the job and attorney fees.

    Good luck. :thumb:
