I've used it becuase I ran out of ARO and it worked well but I still prefer to use ARO or my Meg's APC on the tires/lettering...but P21S Total Autowash will work fine....just my :2cents:
Instead of the P21S Wheel Cleaner, I use the TAW for rims, tires, engines, and paint. Very good product, but I recently moved to ARO because the TAW can get pricey.
P21S Total Auto Wash is a VG all round product, but my 'go to' for tyres is Eimann Fabrik Tire Cleaner & Whitewall Brightener is specifically designed to clean tires also contains optical brighteners to clean and refresh whitewalls and white lettering. Some tire cleaners contain bleach to brighten whitewalls but bleach can turn the carbon black in tyres a dull gray colour – Classic Motoring Accessories - Car Buffers, Car Waxes, Car Polishes, Auto Detailing Supplies, Car Covers, Car Accessories
in a pinch you can pick up some S100 total cycle cleaner (exact same thing as far as I can tell) from a Harley Davidson dealer, they sell all the S100 stuff. Its cheaper too.
Oh yeah, you'll be liking it!!! I ordered a 5L as well from DD. I use it on everything from wheel wells, tires, engines, wheels every now and again, heck even my rubber all-season mats to get the nasty crap built up on them from St. Louis winter. Lots of uses.
Pardon this quesiton, but is it just a heavy detergent or whats the deal? Total auto wash implies that it can be used on paint...like a gentle all purpose cleaner?
it can be used on paint, but think it has a tendency to remove wax. I've used on paint a few times as a pre-cleaner (no agitation though), but knew i was putting some type of protection on afterwards. I would definitely worry less about this getting on your paint than a regular APC.
Hi guys, for the TAW can it be used in conjunction with the wheel cleaner.. will the TAW strip the wheel wax?...i m sure most of u guys here use it for the tires. but i m sure it will also drip onto the rims. i m just worried that its not suitable for the rims. any advise on this?
Used it for 3-4 details so far with no ill effects. Works great IMO. If it's safe for paint, it should be safe for your rims.
TAW does really make the washing experience easier. It removes grime, tar, buggers, etc. with little agitation. I'm going to check out this ARO and give it a try one of these days, since it's getting so many good reviews.
LOL. P21S is a staple product in many detailers arsenals including my own and has been used for years. I use it liberally on everything like other have said and have had no problems at all. However, if your going to use it only on tires you can find cheaper products that do just as good a job. One example for tires is Amazing Roll Off. I use TAW on door jambs, engine degreasing, and on paint behind the wheels.
