In my past attempts of applying the AG HD Wax on various cars, it always seems to have some hazy or patches finishes on the hood. In my past attempt, i tried to apply the wax as evenly and lightly as possible and followed the instruction on the box to leave it on 10-15mins before buffing away but it doesn work, i tried a second application on the hood but there is still those hazy or patches after buffing it away. It is so irritating:duh:! I understand about the wax 'sweating', but is there any easier ways or techniques to solve this, meaning to say applying the wax and buff it away once without any problems? Anybody successfully 'handled' this wax before? Help me or I Gonna burn the wax:fs:!!!
I've used mine regularly since I got it without issue. I have a tendency to aply waxes tthicker than I should but if I let it dry, it always comes off without issue. I have used mine in high heat as well. Is it humid there?
yes a wipe down would help.. but you might have come type of cleaner residue under the wax or just might have not gotten all the wax off during buffing to leave the sealed and hardened wax below. it i would say is the most common issue when too much wax has been applied. it's tough to get it all off sometimes
Dschia - If i remembered correctly your from Singapore? It is fairly Humid there, i would assume that it hazing up due to the high humidity levels in Singapore.
Humidity can really increase curing times. Try leaving for 40mins to an hour. If stubborn to remove use aqd or water spritz; don't rub too hard in case you marr the surface.
You can leave the wax on for as long as you need to in order for it to dry. I have found that I can apply this wax to the entire outside of a large truck before buffing off and it comes off easily. Its kind of like a sealant in that the longer you leave it to dry, the easier it comes off.
I thought humidity will shorten curing time? I will try to leave it longer and see how it goes. I simply love EGP more than hd wax because it can be remove so easily and so much cheaper! Yupx, I am from Singapore and it is humid and wet over here.
any update on curing time for 40-60 minutes dschia? I live in Indonesia, and waiting HD wax to arrive.
Have not try that out yet, will update you once tried, I still have 4 bottles of hd wax on hand, shoulden have bought so many but try other wax instead. =(
wow 4 ! was it on sale ? where did you get it ? autobacs ? never been to autobacs, is it a good place for detailing supplies ?
I got it from autoglym themself during the singapore F1 period where they had 50% offer, they are selling usually at SGD 188 and autobac is selling at SGD 200+. UK e-stores are selling at 32-39 pound (appo. SGD 95) which is cheaper then the offer I got. I am wondering is shipment really so expensive or they actually jerk up the price. autobacs has quite a number of supplies but the products they carried are slightly more and pretty similar to those in megamart.
