now this was fun...i spent about 8 hours alone on the interior trying to reverse the effects of a previous detailer who likes to put saddle soap on leather...WOW was that a pain to get out!

now when i was trying to clean off the saddle soap, it would come off clean after scrubbing and wiping down the leather. come back 10 minutes later and it would look the same again! when i would rub my hand over the leather it would gum up like this:

well i eventually got it out...

in the pic where it looks like there is dirt on the wheel, it's actually the paint had come off the wheel, so that is the metal underneath showing.

The problem with Saddle Soap is nobody knows how to use it. I used to use it years ago on my old vette's white leather interior and it worked great. I would use a wet sponge and suds it up and then clean the seats with it. It worked great and left no residue after rinsing withg a wet sponge.

I know times have changed and they no longer recommend using Saddle Soap and there are a lot of alternatives on the market like Z9 or Leatherique but I figured I would share my experience with it.

    Sorry for the hijack.
