not that I have any info, but if there is, I think that would make a big difference. I own a few guitars as well. Interesting topic!
There is a guitar detailing kit by Fender. I believe it is made by Meguiar's. Meguiar's online has a few guitar details on there.
I thought I saw a member here post a few pictures of his guitar polished out..or was that his laptop :shead:...if I remember correctly he's from Norway but I could be wrong here. Any who, you have an advantage, you have the PosiTector 200 use it and see how much clear coat you got then you can polish it by hand...not sure if I would use a rotary directly on the surface but I can't see any harm doing it by hand..well just my :2cents:
I tried to detail my guitar... i somehow failed on it.. i think varnish is different from car paint.. hehe doh! I tried machine polishing it.. tried wet sanding it..another:doh: compounded it and sand scratches remained.. well..:doh::doh: hey maybe somebody will be successful
use your swissvax wood polish if its wood, if plastic use 106ff or Meg's PlastiX... all by hand of course, maybe could get away with using a PC. Then wax with whatever you want

haha nice! My Colorware ipod has a nice coat of Mystery on it! Maybe that's a good spin-off thread... "what non-automotive items of yours do you detail?" I bet we would see some laptops, cellphones, guitars, etc..
Damn, thats quite a collection there. I tried teaching myself on one of my buddies old guitars, didnt work out too well. But definitely makes you appreciate what people are able to do.
Have had lots of guitars (though never more than 3 at once). Let's see, Hagstrom, B.C. Rich, Les Paul, Ibanez, Washburn, Alvarez, Takamine, and presently have an Ovation Legend and Fender Lonestar Strat, both pretty much my fav's. My polishing story was when I was trying to sell a Les Paul Classic Plus, but it had a couple places right in view on the body the finish was wearing off and would've really hurt the value, but a friend of mine working at a body shop polished it out nicely. Don't think it was even a name brand he used, but he machine polished so it looked brand new.
