You still aren't getting and you just proved my point by being upset.

I diasagree with you 100%, technique has a lot to do with it, without very good skills you are giving the customer a poor product.

Bigpoppa I apologize if I offended you in anyway, this wasn't directed towards you at all. Just trying to get a point across and I pretty much proved it right by certain people getting upset.

Nica, I meant no disrespect to you or your forum, just felt i needed to get somethings off my chest that not only myself feel but others also. I just happen to be the one that is outspoken.

Richy, I am sorry I didn't include you and a few others but I was in a rush when I wrote that post. You are top notch in my book and numerous others on here.

There's a difference between being upset, which I'm not and trying to tell you that your line of thinking is completely skewed.

I'm not upset. I don't care what you think of me or the techniques I use to get the results I'm after. Period.

As shown by other members it's not always about the 'right' way to use something, since one's version of right is another's version of wrong. Do you use exactly a quarter sized drop of shampoo every time you wash your hair? No? Then you aren't washing your hair right according to specific manufacturers recommendations. You're a 40 year old man that still hasn't learned how to groom himself properly if we apply your logic.

Over the years I've taken up a mantra that the old Autopia.org members (myself included) have always preached. "Process is far more important about product" (Process over Product). This we can (likely) agree on. How you get there (via product) really doesn't matter.

Once again all the people "look up to" basically do it the same, so if you want to judge something that would be the "right" way of doing things. Taking all those extra steps is the correct way if you want the best results possible. If you use something correctly you really never need to use aides.

Ask any of the guys that are doing top notch work and I bet you they would agree with me, matter a fact I was on the phone with one last week talking about this very thing.

By your logic should all Rock and Roll artists that look up to Elvis Presley overdose on prescription medicines while on a toilet?

Thats just it I got the best results possible on 20 year old paint. I'll keep my methods, but don't pitch in .04 if you can't take my .02

    Thats all...

Totally different subject, makes no sense to compare the two.

I can take the two cents but you have to realize M105 will need to be followed up period.

guess I'll have to break out the camera tomorrow... along with the halogens, the sun, the brinkman, a extra person to witness..... What else does it take?

Act of god, signed letter of authenticity from Paul Dalton, a piece of toast with the face of jesus 'burned' into it by coincidence and President Jimmy Carter to deliver the news himself.

Never did I say outright that technique doesn't have a lot to do with it but that most customers don't really care. Please ask your customers yourself and see if they care that you use M105 instead of M95 or that you use SIP instead of PO106ff. Sure there may be a few that actually care but for the most part, most don't. In fact, most people can't even tell there are swirls/holograms/RIDS in their vehicle.

If you think about it, you can achieve just about the same results solely with one product line (3M, Meguiar's, etc.) and great technique. By looking at two different vehicles that have been detailed with two different product lines and their respectful techniques required for the product lines, you wouldn't be able to distinguish which vehicle was detailed by 3M and by Meguiar's.

I honestly respect your disagreement with my statement but at the end of the day, all that really matters is that the customer is happy with the work done on his/her vehicle. Us detailers are a little more anal when it comes to details than the client themselves. That's always something to consider. I know we always strive for perfection but for me I always strive for the compromise. :p:

Pictures do not mean a thing on the internet so that isn't going to prove anything. Just knowing the process tells everything you need to know on the outcome.

Boy, you are really taking this hard, thanks for proving me right.

Thanks for starting to see what I am trying to get across.

Proving you right by showing that it would take those items listed to get you to take into account someone elses consideration? Again I could care less if you do and *I* personally won't go through the trouble of getting ahold of Jimmy Carter to deliver the news to you.

ALSO, how the heck are you not reading Denzil's reply and thinking he's siding with you? He's saying exactly the same thing we've all been saying (with the exception of you). You can get the same job done 50 different ways and it doesn't require following directions to a "t" to do it.

I could care less about Jimmy Carter, aweful president, Denzil sees my point of view also thats why I posted what I said. Look, like I said the people that having trouble doing this are the ones getting offended and you took the bait hook, line and sinker, Just like few others that are upset. It gets annoying seeing people post so called advice or info on something that is wrong. Then there are processes on here that show onething and if you know anything about this yoiu would know that certain results are going to be achieved. Just like I posted above, all you have to do is see someones process and that will explain everything, once again pictues do not mean anything on the internet. There are so many close up of swirls in the sun and the afters are 10 feet away at different angles in the shade. That is just worthless and when someone does that you know it doesn't look as good as it should. Just like the wet sanding Dust did in the competition on Phils thread. You do not do a cheker board pattern when wet sanding. So does that help anyone on here, no, thats what I am talking about. Id someone says something they are assholes, and yes I do come across hard and blunt.

At least you admit to trolling/baiting.

You just aren't getting it. You can do this stuff several different ways and yet still ACHIEVE the VERY SAME LEVEL of QUALITY WORK. P-E-R-I-O-D. Nica said this and you didn't refute that, why? Afraid of getting banned but you'll refute it with anyone else just for giggles?

  19. Asphalt Rocket

    Asphalt Rocket Nuba Guru

Once again I will disagree with you on achieving different results. Never baited anyone, you took it and ran with it, the only people that would be offended by what I said are those that know that are not that good at this and think they are. Actually if you read what Nica said he pretty much went along with what I said and I am never scared of being banned, I was honest with what I said and if Nica was that upset he would have sent me a pm and if you read the first few sentences he doesn't think it was that bad. Plus I not hear to get giggles from anyone I am just getting annoyed, just like several others with BS picture and procedures and if you try to call them out this is what happens, people get their feelings hurt because they are told it s wrong. Why would you want people on here to do things wrong, and not just on here but anywhere in life. How about your workplace, if someone is doing something wrong don't you want to help them get it right. I want this forum to be known as getting the best advice possibel but if you let people show or say wrong things what good is it especially if someone comes on here and really wants to do it right. Plus if you don't really like what is being said don't post and you will never be upset.

You ought to not be so presumptuous. I was defending d2gs method and not my own. As far as lighting concerns what do you suggest mobile detailers do when the sun has moved since the last photo? Why don't you go spend an hour outside and see how far your shadow moves before you star accusing folks of hiding shoddy work on purpose.
