thats basicly what i wanted was a drying aid q/d . i wax once a month so durability in a q/d really isnt needed for me . adams a nice q/d man the smell is strong though

It might be slick and such but the ingredients in it are not exactly good for the car

It was just another over generalization. It is best to names products and specific ingredients to make discussion meaningful.

I use Duragloss AW as a QD and it's perfect. Also, Meguiars Final Touch is great but I use it like VXRMarc does: after flooding the paint with water just before drying.

    SV QUICK FINISH
    SV NANO EXPRESS
    CG SPEED WIPE
    CG WHITE NUBA
    CG EXTREME SLICK QD

AND A QD FOR POLISHING TO CHECK THE FINISH:
    MENZERNA TOP INSPECTION HANDS DOWN!!!!!

i like SV quick finish, but i also like the new nano express esp for door jambs and the heavier jobs. i am also a big fan of CG white nuba qd, speed wipe and extreme slick from cg.

cg ONE is just too much of a pain b/c if the car is hot it is a pain to clean off. i don't want a qd that cakes.. it's good for the tougher spots though and in sub 80 weather it performs well.. but i still prefer the other cg products i named.

i haven't tried optimum and fk 425 but i will soon enough.. but right now i really love the 6 -7 i have!! They are all great for different things.. really impressed with the nano express though. that stuff really performs well and on a bunch of different materials.

optimum tire shine is fantastic!!! last for weeks!! no sling. just a nice black look .. i use it in a spray bottle. 2 coats let it sit then a quick wipe with a towel for excess done.. my go to for tire dressings!!!

The hazardous ingredients in Megs UQD are

    PNP glycol ether
    IPA

Their might not be alot of them in it, if it's light then thats probably ok but if it's heavy, I imagine the IPA would strip some sealers and waxes

Optimum tire shine is pretty good -- doesn't sling out all over your car. I used a sponge applicator and it lasts longer than Adams VRT (which also leaves a nice finish)

OK, since we talked about Mother's FX in this thread, I brought some into the office from the garage. To clean up...my Dell XPS 630 and my big Viewsonic monitor. Don't laugh, I know you guys all do the same kinds of things :applause2:

Anyway, something I could not help noticing with FX. It smells like alcohol. I forgot to shake it up when I first sprayed it onto a MF towel, and it struck me. This stuff smells like a shot of vodka.

Dream Machines, have you noticed this as well?

    fk1 # 425 is the best!

I'm using a detailing spray between washes. It seems to me that spraying and wiping would lead to scratching because of the accumulation of dust particles when driving/parking the car? Am I missing something? Is it the material used to wipe it up? I haven't noticed an scratches yet but I'm real leery about wiping down a car without rinsing it first.

Yeah I've noticed alcohol scent in alot of sprays

FK1 425 is a great one but again, nothing compares to Aussie Gold Showroom sealant glaze spray

No silicone, incredibly slick and awesome protection

FK1 would be the best anti static QD though

i have fk 425 and i hinestly don't understand the hype.

sure it comes off nice and reduces static but it doesn't really add anything as far as protection and gloss.. i prefer optimum. but since i have a big bottle of fk425 and a gallon based on the hype i will continue to use it.. it is a great product..but imo not near the hype created. it does go on and come off with ease but i feel i get better looks from swissvax quick finish though fk is easier to wipe off and costs much less..but dammit fk really adds nothing but an anti static property. which does work but i need a lil pop.. i feel i get more optics from speedwipe from cg and that's anti static too. to me the point of a qd is adding looks..fk did nada for me compared to cg's qd's and swissvaxes..zymol field glaze looks much much better than fk too. so is all the hype in fk for just the anti static properties b/c i haven't seen anything else..

are you guys getting paid by fk 425?

i think it's over hyped to the max. it is just a qd that works well but adds zero to the look.

    pro's- easy off anti static

cons - adds lil to no gloss, no optic improvements compared to other qd's i have used.
