Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice, I need to get a sealant and wax, but not sure which one to get. It will be my first time using a sealant and haven't touched wax in years. I will either be applying them by hand or with a flex depending on which is better. Remember, I'd consider myself a beginner and don't want too expensive of a wax and sealant, but don't want the cheap stuff either. I'll be polishing with 106ff Ceramic Polish and Super Intensive Polish PO83. Thanks in advance!
Hard to say. What car and what color paint? There's DG, Zaino, Klasse Twins, WGDPS, 4*, Optimum, CG Jetseal, Collinite 845... Don't get me started on listing waxes! Honestly, it's not going to matter a whole lot if you use those two polishes correctly. It looks like you just need to start getting your hands dirty (figure of speech of course) and try a couple of products.
Yeah, I just didn't want to start out one that was worthless in the beginning, and think it was me(even though it probably would be my fault haha) My car is Black, Parents are Silver and Champagne, GF is maroon. I'll be starting with these cars
Hmmmmm...WGDPS was the first thing that popped into my head after reading your reply. But that was total gut/reflex reaction. When I start thinking about it more, I dunno. DG or Zaino for durability I guess.
I really like Ultima Paint Guard Plus, super easy to apply, the finish is super reflective and deep. In terms of waxes, haha, get them all.
Your prep will bring out the most gloss with your LSP only being a small factor in your vehicles' final appearance. Opinions do vary but if you want some great durability, Collinite 845 seems to be a common favorite. If you want to know what my current favorites are, P21S 100% is my favorite wax and Optimum Opti-Seal is my favorite sealant. Of course, my favorites are always changing and I think yours will too as you try out different LSPs. Good luck!
If you want a sealant, I can't say enough good things about Ultima PGP. Looks fantastic, easy to apply, contaminants come off easy, ect... As far as waxes go, I'm personally fond of Pete's 53 for looks and of couse the Collinites for durability. Pete
Thanks guys! Hopefully Phil at dd can help me out since I have to get a few other things. Luckly I don't live to far from him! Soon you will be seeing some actual detailing photos from me
I like werkstat for sealant and the FK sealant isn't bad either. My current fave wax is hartglanz ( i cant afford zymol/swissvax yet).
