One of the downsides to my car is the stock suspension is lacking. One of the common problems is that our rear springs start to sag relatively soon. So leave it to an aftermarket company to help fix that problem. This is how much clearance I had before the spring mod: This is how the car was supposed to sit: Yes the car had been rained on yesterday so it's dirty in the first picture. After the install was done I washed the car.
this is the first time ive ever seen someone install springs to lift the car up... lol (yes ive seen trucks w/ lift kits but you konw what i mean)
Pedders. Sagging springs are a common problem. The springs that I put on the car is how it was supposed to be from the factory. The way the suspension is on the new GTO imporper tire wear is a serious issue with the stock set up. Also with the new springs I can run a taller tire (think slick) with less chance of rubbing.
Just a tad bit of difference. What type of rear suspension does your GTO have (not the make but style)? Fairly straightforward install?
Not with my mileage...LOL IRS. Very straightforward install. Think it took all of 45 minutes from start to finish. I believe it took longer to wash the car than it did to install the parts. Yes, I did bother to clean the insides of the wheels since they were off the car...LOL
I think he was poking fun at you for jacking your ride up, since most people lower their cars when modding them. But I agree with you, some mickey thompson pro streets on the rear would be nice!!! :applause2:
That's exactly the tire I'm looking at.:headbang: I will lower the front a little bit though. I'm thinking a 3/8 inch drop up front.
Put a supercharger on that Goat and you will have one bad ass ride!!!! Can't wait to see pictures of it when you are done.
That's part of my plan. The next thing I HAVE to do is replace my radiator. My stock one sprung a leak yesterday.
Nope. The replacement they make still has the plastic tanks. I don't want plastic tanks any longer. Local speed shop has someone that builds radiators for race cars and they are going to build one for me.
What's wrong with the plastic tanks? I always thought Fluidyne radiators were always pretty good but maybe you can enlighten me to the downside(s) of having plastic tanks? :shead:
