    Al-53 Welcome to Detailing

you do not have to use ZFX..only if you want to do 3 coats that day...I have used Z5pro over the old Z1 and ALSO DG 601 and no problems..just can only do 1 coat....

I have done Zaino right after a polish with nothing but a wipe down and no problems....same look and durability as with ZFX...

people get confused with using Zaino....you do not need ZFX..you can use just like any sealant....just do 1 coat a day to achieve how many you want....it looks the same as if you used ZFX but takes a bit longer to cure is all....

Al, you are 100% correct. The ZFX is optional. I personally do a layer of Z5, let is sit for about 45 minutes, then add the layer of Z2. NO issues with durability whatsoever.

I cannot wait for a $25,000 sealant to come out! Actually, I want the sealant to be MORE expensive than the vehicle itself!!!

1800s- In the small German town of Bischofsheim a carriage maker developed a wax based on animal fats to protect the black lacquer type paint that was applied to horse drawn carriages.

1960- A German manufacturer Car-Lack (Klasse in US) was the first admixing polyethylene to be used instead of wax, and a European company Autoglym(were originally Swedish, they re-named for the UK market with a very British image, which became even more so once awarded the Royal Warrant) formulated acrylic resin car care products. Mercedes-Benz dealerships used the Car-Lack sealant, while Jaguar and various other English carmakers (Jaguar, Aston-Martin, Rolls Royce and Bentley) favoured Autoglym products

After approx 200+ years they are still formulating Carnauba waxes and the demand doesn’t seem to diminish as there are waxes avilable in excess of $30K. Far from being ‘dead’ it would seem the demand for top end detailers is on the increase, and most of these detailer’s use a wax product. i.e. Miricle Wax, who’s first entry into the marketplace with a product chose a wax.

Perhaps when polymer sealant have been going for a little longer they may prove to be as popular or more so than waxes. ; ) OK I'm a 'little' biased
