help! holograms after waxing

Use a clean MF w QD, do not overspray the qd and use very little.

 

I've never washed the vehicle after applying cleaner fulid, it dosent make sense to me I mean what benefit would there be to wash the vehicle after cleaner fluid? Again that's just my :2cents: though.

 

I agree with Nica, that would be ridiculous.

 

i went to have my car inspected by the swissvax detailer here in singapore...

its due to over application of cleaner fluid and not letting the CF dry completely..

the oils from the cleaner fluid got mixed up with the wax... therefore creating holograms and oil streaks that look like scratches

 

That's interesting, I'm curious though and this is just pure curiosity. My understanding of Swissvax cleaner fluid is that you werent supposed to let dry. Now the over application of cleaner fluid makes sense and the oils mixing with the wax makes sense but the drying part of cleaner fluid kinda makes me think twice..but I wonder if your climate/ambient temperature has something to do with it :shead:

I wonder something... How soon after you wiped the cleaner fluid off did you apply the wax? Maybe the CF needs some time to 'cure' before the wax is put on.

Maybe a technique could be: apply CF, immediately wipe before drying. Let it sit for XX minutes. Wipe again. Apply wax.

 

On the bottle it says "DO NOT LET DRY!"

 

I would say its the oils from the wax surfacing . Use your best mf (i find the pakshak are good) and a little qd and give it very very quick back and forth swipes with the mf

 

another thing i notice... it might be because i left the cleaner fluid too long before i applied the wax... because i CF the whole car before i wax it... my dealer recommends panel by panel... CF then wax it right away panel per panel

 

When it says on the bottle, DO NOT LET DRY, that doesn't mean you put it on and take it off and then immediately put on the wax. It is referring to the fact that you do it panel by panel, so you don't let the cleaner fluid dry on the car. You put it on, then immediately take it off.

Once you go over the whole car you then wax whatever panel you did first with the CF. That way the residual CF from when you put it on and then removed it has had time to evaporate or cure the rest of the way.

Good to see that you found a way to resolve this. Also keep in mind that if you have one coat on there already, you don't want to reapply the CF, that will only help to remove your first coat. If you are trying to layer it, you use the CF when you apply your first layer, but not with the second or any other successive layers.

i feel that after i put on the concorso... it seems to be very difficult to dry... after i waited for 10minutes.. when i remove it... its smearing all over...

how long do i need to wait?

btw i have the old formula swissol concorso..not the new one
