How does everyone maintain their car weekly? Just a wash and then an application of a LSP / wax? From what I have heard you really only polish once a year or so (assuming that is correct). So my main questions: What do you feel the best technique for a weekly cleaning process? What products are you using? I have been looking at CG Citris but it seems a little strong for a weekly wash.. Any suggestions. Thanks! :chips:
i wash weekly with pinnacles body work shampoo. doesnt strip wax. very safe. then i always wipe dry with mocrofiber towels and q/d spray. i wax every month. and polih once a year. you only need to polish id you see inperfections apearing. its up to you.
A good weekly wash shampoo would be Duragloss 901...very gentle on the LSP and cleans good....just wash weekly or Bi weekly..depends on how dirty it gets in that time frame... use a durable LSP and no need to wax or seal weekly....just use a QD weekly to spruce the look up....or a spray sealant monthly.... dress tires when needed and then relax .... AL
what wax are you using.... I was looking at Zymol's site. I have a dark colored car and they have the carbon wax which looks really nice... any opinions? are you using an orbital with a when applying the LSP wax? A Blue CCS Pad I assume. I am not a Zymol user....but these waxes would be best applied by hand applicator....I do not know if Carbon falls into the bare hand method...there are a few good Zymols users here...they will chime in..or PM Calgarydetail...he is the Zymol man here....he knows his wax... AL
Personally, I wash my vehicles every week, or once every two weeks (depending on how dirty they are). I wash with Megs Gold Clas or Duragloss 901 , dry with waffle weave and then go over it with Megs Last Touch. Dress the tires with Adam's VRT and have a brisk lager...
i received an email reply from zymol, they specifically said the carbon wax should be applied by hand as machine application will break down the wax.
1000 psi warm soap wash at Pro wash (coin op) near me Their soap is very gentle but cleans great Then warm pure water rinse Waffle weave dry (blot) Then I get out Driven Quick Spray concentrate 85% strength mix and Aussie Gold Showroom Glaze spray to clean, reslicken, add a new coat of sealant and enhance the gloss They also clean and protect the glass, interior vinyl and wheels I apply them with two towels one week and then the following week I use a cheap orbital polisher with a microfibre bonnet and work the quick spray/Showroom mix into each panel for five minutes The best thing about the USA made Driven to Perfection product is that in it's concentrated form it has no water in it at all and when diluted, can make up to four litres from 473ml of product It does not contain alcohol, glycol (engine coolant that is found in Meguiars UQD), wax or anything nasty It's special formula (plant based) plus special polymers allows you to work it into the paint, clean it, enhance the gloss, boost and build on the protective coatings, be machine applied like a polish to make the paint clearer, deeper, wetter and richer and it provides the strongest protection of any spray on product in the world, except for the Australian showroom glaze which provides six months just by spraying it on and working it into the paint with a towel
