Okay what ever you do dont forget about the lighting, lighting is very important in a detailers garage :thumb:

As for floor, I don't know I'm not a big fan of the standard black and white scheeme. I agree I like pirex idea but it still missing something...I don't know just me...any who once our house is sold, I'll be in the same spot as you P1et..well hopefully so I'm definetly taking notes here, so keep the ideas coming boys :applause2:

I agree though it's nice to have a heated place to work in during the winter months, when I say heated hot enough to wear shorts :thumb:

Any who, I'm looking forward to the progress of your garage and congrats :applause:

Ooooh yes, I like the way you think RussECU...:druling: :druling: sorround sound + TV nice :wicked: that will definetly go on my next garage, yes sir!!!!

Funny that you say that Carlos because my dad and I were actually talking of doing that with our garage. I think we'll do the surround sound first since we already have an extra, yes extra, audio receiver and amplifier. Now we'll just have to buy a 1080p plasma for the garage, hehe.

Originally we were supposed to have that stuff installed in the cabana house we have in our backyard next to our pool (since there's surround sound set up there already) but

The cabana house will also get a nice 1080p plasma. :thumb:

P1et I'm really happy for you ,have you considered how many electrical outlets you'll have in there?how about a 220 volts outlet dedicated for an Air compressor ?hot and cold water taps, heating ,lighting,?what's your plans for the floor?
Instead of a lift I have seen some garages with a rectangular hole/cavity in the middle of the floor 5 feet deep ,enough so you can stand up in it and fix you car from under,do you know what I mean?it's an easier and cheaper way than a lift.the space would be big enough for your tools ,light, etc.think about it,it's not a bad idea.

Oh I forgot, how about a few chair and a good size refrigerator to keep beers cold for when your buddies come over, they can sit and have a beer while you are detailing their cars.:applause2:

Thanks, I'm excited as well! I am not going to go TOO crazy on the garage since we'll be in this house for probably about 5-7 years as I see it now. I am having the standard single electrical outlet put in for now, but then my electrician is going to come back and install the rest when I get a better feel of where I want things to be. There will be no water pulled to the garage as I have access to water at the back of the house.

It's not going to be the craziest garage, but I am going to love it!

And yes, we WILL have a fridge for feer and tables/chairs for sitting. I already have two nice neon signs bought ready for mounting on the walls!

The pics are what it looks like now. The concrete was supposed to be already poured, but the engineering firm hasn't come by yet to inspect the rebar etc. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I have a nice Miller Genuine Draft neon sign and a classic Budweiser bowtie...

    New pics next week!!!

Nope, still nothing new since the last round of pics. An inspector from the engineering company came by and said that everything looks good, but the drawings from the engineerd slab aren't done yet. Could be another two weeks. Are they busy or is it me? Once that is done, then we can pour. The same company is pouring that did the toll roads here, so it must be decent stuff!

My apologies for the lack of updates. The engineering company took longer than expected to finalize the engineered slab in regards to the soil sample that was taken.

    We made a few changes!

    1) Instead of 18" deep, we went on to 24" deep
    2) We put more rebar in, now every 12"
    3) Instead of 1/4" steel, we replaced it with 1/2" steel!
    4) Instead of regular concrete, tomorrow we'll pour heavy duty concrete.

Needless to say, we should be able to park a locomotive in there after it's all said and done!

Also, I decided to go with a single 16 foot centered door, NICE!!!
