Polishing Carlos' Style

:applause:Nica thanks very much for the great videos. It really makes the rotary usage not so intimidating. During the video I noticed that you picked spots to go back and forward on quickly. What does this do and what was your reasoning? I think in the first video I noticed you did it on the top left of the section. The video quality makes it such a great learning tool b/c you can see the stages of the polish and the swirls disappearing. Leave it to you if you do something you do it right.:applause:

Oooh that's cool, how did you do that? Did you have to shrink the size of the file? Looks like a bit of the quality was lost but still not too bad :thumb:

Glad you enjoyed it RussECU, that's exactly what I was going for. Rotary is easy any one can learn how to use it, nothing to be scared about.

As to the spots you saw me giving it those quick pases on, well some sections of the panel had some RID's so by moving it back and forth I've found it gives more bite to the pad and the polish. As you saw I didn't have to do this to the entire panel just to some sections, this style I actually picked up from Paul Dalton. After seeing all his videos I was curious why he polished with those motions, those quick jerking motions, well it took me a wile to get his stile of polishing down but now I can finally start to see the difference it makes. It's funny becuase some people wonder why Paul seems to polish randomly, well trust me there is a reason for it. I've learned lots from Paul's videos and well I figuired I'd share my stile of polishing.

I agree, the quality of the videos is key to learning something from them. I'm just glad you guys are patient enough to download the videos and satisfied with the quality eace:

Hopefully the next few videos I got coming will be as helpfull as these two videos.

i cant get the video to load. i saw a min or to but then nothing froze:shrug: then i left it on for 2 hours for buffering time . got home it was only at 70 percent. :yikes:. then my whole computer froze:thud:.

 

time for a new computer!

No worries, it's all good :thumb:. As to comparing the 3M pad to Lake Country or Sonus, well to be honest I can't really compare the 3M UK pads to the Lake Country the reason for this is that it just has a completely different feel to it compared to Lake Country..lol..for all I know it could be Lake Country producing these things but it just dosen't feel the same that's all. As for the Sonus...mmm..well again they are different becuase the Sonus pads are quite dence foam and the 3M UK pads are not, they are soft and really easy to work with. I can't even compare these 3M UK pads to the Menzerna pads I have or any other pads I have in my arsenal to be honest, just a completely different feel to them ...sorry perhaps not what you were after but I honestly can't compare them to any of the pads I have in my collection. But to be honest, it's great having these pads but it really comes down to pesonal taste. I mean if you like Edge or Lake Country or what not, as long as your happy with the results its producing for you that's all that maters...well at least I feel that way.

Nice Carlos! great vid! Just bought myself a Hitachi-rotary. I'm very glad you put these videos up, so we noobies(me..) can learn. Had the Megs G220 for half a year now, but i wanted to step up. Keep posting videos

 

Glad you enjoyed the video and found them helpfull :thumb: don't be scared of the rotary it's a great tool, just pay attention to what your doing and you'll be fine...I'll post move videos up to help, but remember what I'm posting is just my way of doing things, it may work for you and then again you may not like the way I do things but hopefully it will give you a visual and well just more options. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to make a few more polishing with the rotary videos. I should have time this weekend as it's a long weekend :cheerl: Thank you for the feed back.

:nod: you read my mind, hopefully the vehicle that's booked will need wet sanding. It's another Subaru and the clear coat on them is normaly not too bad but will see. I'll definetly be making some wet sanding videos though :thumb:
