Today, Pirex' company, ScandicShine was attending at a local car show, so Pirex asked me to show off my car too. The car was not all that bad, but I haven't detailed it since autuum 2007. You can't show off last years work, so I had to redo it a little. The car was supposed to stand beside the A6 with Divine, so I had to be in top shape. I started out 11.30, and Pirex dropped by, washing his car and lending me his PTG Unfortunatly, I'm not much of a picture-taker, but here's some befores: Left side back. Left side door: Paint overspray, left side door: Wetsanding with 2500 grit, to get the worst overspray away. Products used: Wash: Optimum Car Wash Clay: Riccardo Clay & Meguiar's Speed Detailer Paint: Optimum Compound with Orange CCS 4" some places. Menzerna Intensive Polish on Sonus white. Menzerna 106 on Blue Sonus - Lovely combo! Menzera Top Inspection Swissvax Cleaner Fluid by hand. Wax: Swissvax Mystery on bonnet, front bumber, front wings and doors. Dodo Juice Banana Armor på right backfender Dodo Juice Purple Haze på leftside backfender Swissvax Shield on backbumber, roof and tailgate. A big thanks to Pirex, for letting me use his Swissvax Master Collection! After that, I forgot the pics. The back. The whole back of the car is in a rubbish shape. It's so bad, that nobody wants to respray it! Pretty thick paint. The most I got on the PTG was 1270! But I'm afraid that alot of that is filler. I didn't remove all the scratches.. Too afraid for going thru the paint. Bonnet: For some reason, the paint got hazy on this pic. I was done 23.00, and the sun escaped long ago, but the car looked like this the day after: Pirex hooked me up with some CG-Gear! Hehe
NICE!!!! Man that's just gorgeous, team work is always the best. That car meet looks impresive :thumb: Thank you for haring with us eace:
The car show was great fun! The sun was out all day. It was so hot, that I got sweaty just by putting tireshine on! And afterwards, we all got sunburns and the "lobster" look, but we can't complain. Here's some pics of ScandicShine's stand: SS-Stand: I also detailed a red, oxidized Audi S2. Wich was quite scary, because everybody gathered around! I'm used to detailing by myself. Washing with No Rinse Claying Machine polishing Menzerna 106 Waxing with Swissvax Mystery. [/QUOTE]
mmmmmm....singel stage paint....jommy...man, you just KILL the MFs on those paint...almost every MF ive got is red...figure why.? Always great with a demo on the stands, and also great that people are getting around, but i would also be shaky if i had people around when detailing... Great work on that hood, did you do the rest of the car too?
Either, you're only buying those red MF's from Pirex, or it's your Renault's fault! I didn't do the rest of the car, the show only lasted till 15.00, and I started out about 13.30. But the owner is a local, so I offered him help so he could get crackin' The rest of the car will be tough.. The paint gets thinner further back.. Thanks to global warming, we got the hottest May ever! And it's going too be even hotter. June, July and August are usually pretty hot.
That car show looks sweet and that's great that you were detailing the car wile at the show :appaluse: yea I agree I'd be a bit nervous too if I had a few people standing around watching my every move...but sounds like fun. Thank you for sharing all the pictures...got any pictures of the other vehicles in show by any chance? Just wondering that's all.
Ofcourse Carlos! Here's some pictures of the other cars. There was about 40 cars, so not a big show, but very social. Volkswagen Polo: Some Golfs Good looking classics! BBS RS I love the Rat look! Volkswagen Passat: Some Audis This A4 won people's choice award: Larzon Innovation This A4 won "Best Paint" Guess who was the Judge? You all know him very well.... The winners in each class:
AWESOME! My father's first NEW car was a 1979 black GTI, exactly like the one above! We had it for more than 15 years before we gave it away. STILL MAD ABOUT THAT!!! That red Mk1 is fantastic. Absolutely stunning!!!
Oooh nice vehicles in that car show wow all the vehicles look great...but I have to agree with you this car looks wicked: That Audi looks really nice too...so pirex was one of the judges huh..mmm..I motion for a re-count hahahahahahaha just teasing. Thank you for sharing the pictures with us, they all look great :thumb: Man you guys have some nice grass too, nice and green :druling: my grass in my backyard is just starting to come back to life :shakehead:
Christer did a amazing job on the car show, and his car looked really good! Fun weekend for sure, can`t wait for the big vw-audi car show in june!!
I like the A3, it's easy and fun to drive, and a good towncar. But it's also quite comfortable on long distance driving. I got the 1.8, but I want the 1.8T. It's in the shop very often. But it has NEVER broken down. It keeps going and going. It's usually problems with the suspension and stuff like that. But, this car is lowered 45mm and got 235/35/19 on it, so it gets pretty beat up. The first year I got it, I used alot on repairs, because the previous owner was a bit sloppy with maintance, but I still love my A3, I couldn't see myself in a reliable japaneese car. For suuure! I'm really looking forward to the Main VW-Audi show! And let's not forget... Some drinkin'
Nooooo, do you drink, Christer??? And here I thought VACN was the car-equivalent of AA... :coffee: The A3 looks great, wasn`t counting on anything else from you:applause2: I also look very much forward to the main event in June :drinking2: Looking forward to be wearing similar T-shirts at the SS-stand:giggle:
