Gi Yu Dojo, Sukh Sandhu Martial Arts - Truveo 影片尋 Those of you that were talking to me while I was talking my class. Can you understand why I had bloody elbows and scabs for 2 1/2 weeks now? :rollinglaugh: That man had no :shakehead: sympathy for me. He told me to suck it up :giggle:
Good for you girl, you rock! :applause::worship2::applause2::headbang: I was heavy into it about 20 years ago......couldn't kick that high now if my life depended on it, have to go for the kneecaps now!
I am glad I did it. I live and work in a safe area, however assualts and rape are increasing at staggering rates. The instrutor is my friend and talked me into it. I am glad I did. I learned a lot. :headbang: Sure! I got your back! :giggle: :thumb: Yep I loved it! ahhh.. well.... I was raised with a military father, one brother with a ton of friends that hung around the house. I can tell you I never faught like that:catfight: silly girls... pulling hair... cat fight.. nope... not me. :aord: :aord: :giggle:
I have Black Belts in Kenpo Karate and Aikido. It helped me focus and concentrate in just about every area of my life. Whether you take it out of necessity or exercise, you come away with much more than you pay for. Congratulations on surviving your training Tonya!
Well put!! I gained confidence and I am so much more aware of things going on around me. I learned a lot from this class and learned you don't have to be strong. You can use their energy against them. Plus I can get out of a head lock, bear hug and an arm grab. They didn't treat us like a bunch of girls either!!! I had less bruses playing tackle football with by brother and his friends. :rollinglaugh:
Impressive Tonya! I believe everyone should take a self defense class. If you are looking to discipline your mind, studying any martial art is beneficial. For the women in our lives, please remind them that April is Rape Awareness Month. My school offers a women-only self defense seminar as do, I'm sure, many others.
Those seminars are a great start, but to defend yourself those techniques need to be a reflex and that only comes from a lot of practice. I'm not saying you have to train all the time, but go over what you learned in you head often an d practice with other people as much as you can. A good way to do this is offer to show other women how to do the moves, then you get the practice for free and they learn something too!
Tonya..good for you!! Women especially should be able to look out for themselves; this world ain't what is used to be. Having said that however, my favourite fighting with women always involves mud!!:headbang::giggle:
I think i will do the level two class sometime this summer. I don't think they have picked a date yet. Exactly, Before I took this class I thought I was careful and aware of how not to look like a "easy victim or target" However if it came down to it.... well... all I could do was fight like hell if needed. Now I am much more aware of my "space" and what to do to get away from someone with less effort. I always knew that if someone tries to abduct me I was SOL if they were succcessful. Know that I know the statistics :yikes: I say....not me!! My friend is also trying to be me to take the carry and conceal course :ar15: :applause2: :rollinglaugh: mud wrestling... I think I will pass. I did mud volleyball once for a fun raiser. That was :gross:
