CG Flexfit hat. That's right, I'm reviewing the hat!

DP Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo

-$14.99 from AGO for 32oz. bottle

-2oz. added to Gilmour Foam gun filled halfway with hot water then shaken and stirred

-Ratio stick set to MAX setting for pre-soak - bad idea as I was down to less than 1/4 of the solution left in the quart container after covering the car

-Dialed stick back to lower of the middle settings for "follow the stream of foam with mitt" wash method

-Suds were equal to PBSSS but I'd say Lubricity was a notch or two below PBSSS; temps were high 60s and falling

-I prefer the smell of PBSSS over DP Xtreme Foam

-This was only my first use of the product so I will go through the whole bottle this season; since I really only have PBSSS to compare it to, I'd say DP Xtreme Foam is a notch below

    White/Yellow SchMITT

-Can be purchased from a number of online retailers; mine was purchased from AGO

-Used in conjunction with Gilmour Foam Gun and one 5 gal. bucket w/2 grit guards

-I have to say that I enjoyed washing the car with the SchMITT more than the Ulti-Mit. It's softer, lighter, more flexible and easier to use in those hard to reach areas

-Concerns about the SchMITT not fitting my hand (I have long-ass E.T. phone home fingers) were laid to rest once it was immersed in water; didn't use the string loop as it was snug enough around my wrist

-My car wasn't filthy, but there was a noticable film of dirt on there. I have to say that I had a little more concern over potential swirl inducing with the SchMITT than I've had with the Ulti-Mit

-Pending paint inspection I'm gonna give the nod to the SchMITT over the Ulti-Mit

    Cobra Guzzler HD

-Color of text depicts actual color, give or take a hue

    -Available for $19.99 from AGO; 16 x 24"

-Think Absorber, only thinner, wrapped in waffle weave microfiber; no idea how they stitch or fuse the two together but it works. This sucker soaked up all the water that we left on my car, which was a lot since there's very little, if any, protection left on the car

-While it absorbs a lot of water, it's also easier to leave water behind if you don't flip it over to a dryer side. However, flipping it over to a dryer side side is much more difficult than any other MF towel; totally understandable given the foam core

-For those of us that don't yet have the budget for a CR-Spotless, this is a good alternative as it'll gobble up tons of water before water spots have a chance to form. Still a good idea to use the QD as a drying aid + a normal MF towel for what little film of water may be left behind by the Guzzler HD

-This will surely come in handy on those days I'm forced to wash in direct sunlight; I also see it as a good dryer for those ONR/DP 4-in-1 washes

Chemical Guys Flexfit hat w/evil chemistry bottle logo

-This is my new favorite hat. Future hats purchased must be Flexfit hats

-I ordered the M/L size cuz I have a small mellon but received a L/XL. I'm actually glad I have the L/XL as it's a very comfortable fit and does not make my sunglasses leave imprints in my temples.

-Definitely give it a 11/10 because 11 is more f'n cooler than 10 :thumb: (yes, I'm a LOSER cuz I've been wearing it the whole time it's taken me to draft this review :p: )

Damn, that took a long time...I dunno how I'm gonna post the Show and Shine of the '99 Lapis Blue Boxter I'm detailing on Sunday. :crash:

I must be like a year or more behind on products to be reviewing, huh?

30 views and nada. Some feedback would be welcome, even the negative. That way I won't waste my time while using the products or that of others in reading my reviews.

If I have to have a year or more's worth of experience with multiple products before I post a review so that it is actually worth something, please let me know. I can't learn otherwise and that's what I'm here to do.

    Thanks! :peace:

    Al-53 Welcome to Detailing

well I will jump in here and say you did a real nice review....but I can not say much on the shampoo as I never used it..but nice review on it....

The Shcmitt is OK ..but fell apart to fast for me..as far as non marring I am not to sure as there is no where for grit to get trapped except between the foam and paint...Aaron came out with a Grout type foam in his new version...bigger cell pores so more trapping areas....if they only did not fall apart....

The Guzzler is a nice drying towel....I have 2 of them...I use a leaf blower now and use a guzzler to get any left over water ...but its a nice towel....

the hat..now I think thats cool...I should of got one on my order the other day...lol....I totally forgot about it....I wear a hat outside while detailing ..and it looked like a cool hat...I just wish it came in different colors..as Black tends to get hot in the sun...lol....Red would be nice or green...

    nice review....

Thank you for the feedback Al, much appreciated. I was thinking of trying the SchMITT GS, but I'll probably wait till next year.

One thing I forgot to mention about the Guzzler HD is that on those sunny days, having the soaked towel, more so than a regular guzzler, to wipe over the car will help me with minimizing water spots.

    Very Nice Review!!

Im glad you did the review on the DP Xtreme Foam because i was looking into this soap. At 60 a gallon, it needs to be really good and i have like 2 or 3 gallons of soap still sitting here :shead:

Here is my confusion, i have read that Poorboys SSS did not work well with a foam gun, maybe i took it wrong...you are comparing the two using your foam gun correct? I think you prolly just saved me 60 dollars, thank you.....

I was looking for another WW as well, looks like i will try this one out..currently using 2 from CG and 2 from Proper Auto Care

This was a great review for me to read as i have been interested in all of these products so thank you for taking the time to do so!

    J Bell,

Poorboys SSS is much more fluid than the DP Xtreme Foam, so I actually used it directly in the container with no dilution. I relied on the stick setting to dilute the PBSSS.

The Xtreme Foam is like a gelatinous glob and it may be that it just wasn't warm enough.

If you like, I can send you a 4oz sample of the DP Xtreme Foam for you to try out...that's really the only way for you to know for sure.

When you say foam gun do you mean Gilmore type gun or a foam Cannon?
BTW thank you for an informative review,I was thinking of getting the DP extreme foam soap for my foam Cannon but now I think I'll change to PB S&S.

My bad, I should have been more clear. Just because I distinguish between the two one way does not mean others do.

I was referring to the Gilmour Foam Gun. Thanks, I'll edit my review.

    Nice review.

I usually make a mix of DP and other wash. I just go t my shmitts and I'll see if I like them.
