This is the vehicle that I posted last week that I would be getting to work on as well as a '46 Caddy. Well when the Chrysler arrived, I thought: what the hell am I supposed to do? It looked pretty darned nice already. It's harder when the bar is set high to make a noticeable improvement but I did the best I could. The car had been painted not that long ago and was wet sanded between coats. Under the scrutiny of my powerful CFL's, I could see sanding marks and the like, but the customer didn't want me to go crazy on this one. Besides, this was the 1st vehicle I was doing for him, so I didn't want to hit him with a huge bill. The yellow colour hides a lot of sins in the sunlight. This is a really cool car with some modern conveniences like A/C but made to look original; what a cool driver!! You can see that it's been lowered substantially in the front. The Process: Wheels with Surf City Tires with ARO Wells with ARO Above cleaned with p.w. Convertible top with ARO 2 bucket method with 1 oz ONR added to soap Dried with leaf blower. Dried with ww mf. Clay not needed. All chrome cleaned with DG 501 All chrome except wheels sealed with DG 105. Wheels cleaned with DG 501. Wheels sealed with JS109. Tires dressed with DP gel. Wells dressed with Adams undercarriage spray (although really hard to see from height). Paint cleaned with DG 501, white pad, udm at 6. DG 601 applied to paint. DG 105 applied over 601. AW applied 5 hours later. Glass done with IG. Interior vacuumed. Vinyl, leather and painted interior surfaces including top bows treated with 303. Engine and underhood cleaned with ONR in QD strength. Plastic window treated with DG 681 (scratches). BEFORES:
