Aggressive Detailing Clay

Has anyone used the clay from Top of the Line? http://www.topoftheline.com/claysapovrem.html

My gentle clay is Mothers, Im looking for something more aggressive.

So far Ive used 4* and Wolfgang. They both seemed pretty similar. But for some reason I liked the 4* clay a little better. But wasnt too impressed with either. Im wanting to try Megs and Clay Magic red.

So opinions on Megs, Clay Magic red, and Top of the Line please. Or other aggressive clays that you like.

I like the Red Clay Magic, wicked bite..in fact if your not carefull and you press hard it will induce micro marring. To be honest I haven't found any need for a stronger clay then Red Clay Magic...I give it a :thumb: up

I've been curious about the Meg's pro clay though. Not cheap but supposed to be a good clay, comes in it's own container kinda like Swissvax clay.

 

the gray clay we have is pretty aggressive the swissvax paint rubber is very very fine.

Our grey Adam's Clay will mar paint if you are heavy on it.

 

Was SOOO close to using the red clay magic on my civic yesterday (gave it the end of season once over) but instead used megs pro in mild.

worked AMAZING

the 16 year old paint on my civic is smoother than the paint on all the 08's on the lot at work

not sure what made me switch. i had just cut a fresh peice of the red off, and was working it flat when i just scrunched it back up, and went back to the megs.

 

No kidding about the smoothness. I clayed my car and I'm sure no one's ever clayed it, so it's been 15 years before it had its first claying. I was happy after . Polishing does an amazing job on bringing back the glass feel too.

 

What are you working on out of curiosity?

Clay Magic Red is a good product, the only times I ever used it though were on cars that had been sitting under a tree their whole lives. Lately I have been doing all of my decontamination work with a decent pre-soak and gray (fine clay) or a clay block.

 

Has anyone tried the 3m perfect-it clay?

My own anecdotal evidence says you are dead on with your ratings. i will add one caveat. The body sponge/clay sponge creates a vastly different type of marring than red or grey clay. Personally i think the grey mars more than the red. Like twice as much. I prefer the body sponge over all. I rarely use aggressive block clay any more.

 

So where does The zaino clay fit into this?

 

Slighty more aggressive than soap and water:spitlol:, no but I would put it right in line with Pinnacle ultra poly and perhaps meg's otc.

 

It is the clay that I use the most. Decent price. IMO, it is a good clay to have if you are only going to keep 1 type around. Be sure to use it with plenty of lube and you should be OK as far as maring goes. You are probably going to follow with a polish anyhow so minor marring wouldn't matter I guess.

I was going to buy some of this because I want a mild clay to use on my own car that is well kept. Pinnacle was the obvious choice, but the sonus is a better deal.

is it really THAT mild? I dont want to bother with it if it won't even remove a LSP.

sonus green i extremely mild...it literally is a clay for the person who is ocd and wants to clay every single time they wash their car...or for a car that has very little contamination...

 

Which is lighter? Sonus green or ricardo yellow?
I love the pinnacle and sonus clays!
