hey guys, yesterday I was doing some minor work on a customer's car. He wanted me to remove those annoying dealership stickers that get put on cars when they are sold. Most people would try the heat gun and quickly peel it off. I for one do not have one. I feel my technique was safer for the paint and more effective with the removal. I simply used a steam blaster with a microfiber cloth on the tip so I can safely scrub the bumper. this removed the whole dealership sticker within seconds. After the removal some of you may have some of the glue residue left on the paint, no need to pull out the rubbing compound. I just used liquid carnuba wax in a liberal amount on a microfiber cloth. after scrubbing the area for 10 seconds all that was left was a brilliant shine with no glue or those annoying stickers. then simply remove left over carnuba residue and call it a night. I feel my method was safest after a thorough cleaning of the area, rather than a blade or a heat gun. I got done removing all his stickers on his used car in 15 minutes.
whenever i hear the word scrubbing in regards to paint i think marring. while im sure that isnt the case here, the risk is there. I use my wife's blow dryer and a plastic razor blade. Use Goo-Gone to remove residue. I usually am correcting paint when I do this so any hint of ghosting are gone. If I just do a removal blow dry to warm up, plastic razor blade to pull up a corner then peel away, goo gone to remove adhesive dry that off then mist and wipe with IPA done.

If you have a steam gun why did you need to scrub? Why not just use the steam to soften the adhesive and peel the sticker right off. The remove any adhesive reside with more steam and a microfiber cloth. No scrubbing needed
