    Hey guys,

I just finished detailing my oem RS4 engine covers. It took a lot longer than I expected. Total time was about 5 hours. I don't know if the gel coat is just very thick or I wasn't getting enough cutting power with the drill. Although I was able to get some pretty awesome results, I wish I had a Rupes Ibrid Nano. I am sure with the random orbital/throw and additional power could have gotten the job done faster. However, I don't detail professionally and I don't really need it. Someday I will get one.

Also huge shout out to Kevin Brown. He's a detailing legend and helped me set up this make shift 1" rotary polisher. He even cannibalized one of his own backing plates to make the adapter for the drill.

    Tools:
1" Mirka backing plate from buffdaddy.com
    1" Microfiber cutting disc
    1" Foam cutting disc
    1" Foam finishing disc
    Dewalt cordless drill

    Supplies:
    Meguiars M105
    Meguiars M205
    Ammo Reflex Coating

And it's a wagon! I mean, Avant! And nagaro blue! My dad's had the AWE Stage 3+ kit on it. It was fast.

It is truly my dream B5 S4. I am continually trying to make it cleaner. It will be tough to be as clean as Phil's though haha. He basically restored the whole thing.
