I finally ran out of m105 and am looking for something to take its place in situations where m205 is not enough cut. In reading about the 101 and 100 I am unsure which is the way to go.

Can someone help educate me on the differences of the two. My biggest complaint with the 105 was dusting and short work time.

    Thanks

    Jeff,

Both are good, both still dust. Short work time is great if you accept that as a good characteristic.

If you want longer work times pick up Sonax Cut Max or Menzerna FG400.

Both are good like Phil said. I tend to use M100 more because it doesn't dust as much as M105. I also have M101 at ,but I usually just add a drop or two when using M100 to boost up cut. M101 can be used as a stand alone product for really nasty stuff, but be careful because it's aggressive. I have been able to cut down the dusting a lot with all Megs compounds by spritzing a little bit of distilled water on the surface after a few passes. I usually do 2-3 passes, stop, spritz distilled water (super light mist), and do a 1 or 2 passes more depending on what the paint needs. This also helps keep the microfiber pads cleaner. Check Kevin Brown's articles for Meg's products on his site www.buffdaddy.com. A lot of good information there on how to use Megs products.

FG400 is an EXCELLENT alternative to M100 or M105 with better finishing (in most cases). FG400 with flash pads is one amazing combo for cutting nasty stuff. FG400 with uber yellow or orange pads can be an excellent one stepper on light colored hard paint.

There are a lot of good options out there right now.

Thanks Phil placed the order before I saw this, I will give it a call and if I need it I will be back. Most of my stuff isn't to nasty.

    Thanks

Thanks I ordered the m100. I have the menzerna. It's just very oily and I try to avoid it if possible.

IMO, m100 is designed for rotary machine and dont have the cut power as 105 but the dust is much lower, m100 do a lot of dust but really i donĀ“t notice difference between m100 or m105, if you are searching for a powerful cut compound, m105, FG400, sonax cut max, kosh chemie.
