Hi all, So, I am a weekend warroir that likes to take care of my daily driver (e90 335i) and the grocery getter (B5 S4 Avant). Right now, I am using quite a variety of products that doesn't seem to be the right mix. The chemical guys jetseal, I currently use is super easy to work with, however, it doesn't last very long. In addition, I layered it with some left over Swissvax and it didn't adhere well because I didn't use the cleaner, which strips the sealant (counter productive). Maybe using P21s instead will help? In addition, I am looking at adding a coating into the mix. My goal is to have a group of products with the ability to layer for added protection and longevity. Where I can just add a coat of wax to maintain every month and do the whole cycle every 6 months (coating -> sealant - > wax). With that said, I am really interested in trying Ammo NYC's regiment. The reflex, skin, crème paste, and hydrate as they are meant to be layered together. However, before I take the plunge to going all Ammo NYC do you guys have a suggestions and maybe swap out some of my products that will work better together? I'm going to try using the P21s on the jetseal instead of the Swissvax. Also for coatings, I am looking for something easy to use as I am just a weekend warrior. Soap - Adam's car shampoo Wheel Cleaner - Sonax Fallout Cleaner - Sonax Clay bar - Meguirs Polish - Chemical Guys V32 to V38 also have Adam's correcting and finishing polish (can't decide which line I like better). Coatings - none Sealant - Chemical Guys Jetseal Wax - P21s or Swissvax onyx Spray detailer - Adam's Tools - Torq 22d & Torq Foam Cannon Always use clean quality microfibers and grit guard. Thanks so much, John
Coatings don't need to be layered. They are meant to be more durable than a wax or sealant. Pick a sealant or coating and stick with that. Layering is completely optional. Are you looking for a sealant or coating? If you are looking for a sealant these are good. Both are good to about 6 months https://www.detailersdomain.com/collections/wax-seal-coating/products/adams-liquid-paint-sealant-16-oz https://www.detailersdomain.com/collections/wax-seal-coating/products/sonax-polymer-net-shield-1 If you are looking into a coating I would recommend this one. It's user friendly and easy to use https://www.detailersdomain.com/collections/wax-seal-coating/products/optimum-gloss-coat-10-cc It does not need to be topped/layered with anything. It has a longevity of 3 years. If you have to top then you can use either one of these even though it is not needed https://www.detailersdomain.com/collections/optimum-car-care/products/optimum-opti-seal-paint-sealant https://www.detailersdomain.com/collections/optimum-car-care/products/optimum-car-wax
Thanks Guz! You've given me plenty to think about. I guess I am leaning towards a coating then layering sealant/wax for the extra shine/pop. Is there any other suggestions or products you suggest that I should swap out that I am currently using?
