picked up the FESTOOL Shinex RAP 150

I know this is an old thread but I figure I might as well update it than make a new thread on the same thing.

I am considering a Shinex 150 for detailing work - while i find a lot on the internet around 2010/2011 when they first came to the US, I can't find many recent posts

have they developed a niche for car detailing? - it appears there was dissatisfaction with backing plates for a while...did that improve? - or do people buy adapters and use their favorite 5/8" backing plates? - seems to be not too much in the way of pads/polishes from festool...issue? - or just buy Lake Country (or other) in 6.5"?

curious to know what people's experiences have been
