Vehicle: 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Gyeon Quartz Certified Detailer: Detail Force, Inc Denver CO (www.DetailForce.com) Project: Gyeon MOHS+ New Car Protection Package The 707 HP Dodge Challenger Hellcat is a rocket ship. Big ole American Muscle. These cars are fairly easy to correct, nice flat panels, and have been showing up in pretty good shape. Some have had a slight haze to the finish but this one seemed a bit better. Once corrected, the Gyeon Quartz MOHS+ (Certified Detailers Only) Ceramic Coating system was installed for an incredible shine, long term protection, and the ability for the paint to shed water and contaminants very effectively to preserve the finish for years to come. The Mohs+ system was then cured with our InfraRed curing lamps to achieve maximum gloss and hardness. What a huge turnaround on this very special project. Along with the paint, Gyeon Quartz Rim was used to protect the wheels, Gyeon Quartz View on the Windshield and Glass, Gyeon Quartz Tire for the tires,and Gyeon Quartz LeatherCoat and Gyeon Quartz FabricCoat for the interior surfaces. The Process: 1. A thorough wash using Gyeon Quartz Bathe. Bathe can also be used in a foam gun, as done here. 2. Medium Clay Bar Process to remove the Above Surface Bonded Contaminants from the finish with Gyeon Quartz Clay Lube and Medium Clay 3. A good soak in Gyeon Quartz Iron to remove the Below Surface Bonded Contaminants 4. Gyeon Quartz Iron is also used on the Wheels to remove all Iron Ferrous Particles and give them a deep clean 5. During the wash process, we applied Gyeon Quartz WetCoat to the satin finished hood for a clean, even, and very natural looking sheen. 6. Next is a warm air blow dry using our MasterBlaster. 7. Tape all trim and possibly dangerous edges to protect them from polishes and machines during paint correction 8. Using the full range of Rupes Polishers we remove all swirls, holograms, buffer trials, and marring from the paints finish 9. Give the paint a thorough wipe down in Gyeon Quartz Prep to remove all polishing oils to ensure a pure surface for coating 10. MOHS+ Time!!! MOHS+ utilizes a base coat and top coat system to provide incredible gloss and hardness, while creating the ability of the paints surface to SHEET water more than bead. This allows for increased protection from water spotting and chemical etching. 11. All Gyeon Certified Detailers use InfraRed Curing Lamps to get the most gloss and performance out of the system 12. While IR Curing is taking place we move on to the Wheels with Gyeon Quartz Rim. We coat the Wheel Faces, Drums, and Brake Calipers. 13. Gyeon Quartz View is installed on the windshield and glass to repel water very effectively during bad weather. Gyeon View is also a 2 part system where a bonding agent is applied to the glass prior to the actual SiO2 based coating. Very effective 14. Once the Wheels are done we move on to the interior with Gyeon Quartz LeatherCoat and Gyeon Quartz FabricCoat Picture Time! First the Bathe wash down We chose Gyeon WetCoat for the Satin Hood. This is a super easy way to protect these fragile finishes. The results were phenomenal and the customer can apply this to the entire car every 4-6 months to keep it in top shape. Immediate Beading action with WetCoat Next is a Warm Air Blow Dry with the MasterBlaster. This ensures we don't introduce any surface marring while drying. Once safely dry we tape all trim to protect from polishing residue and help control dust. We also keep the hood raised during the rest of the project to protect the Satin finish. Normal New Car surface defects fairly uniform throughout the finish Nothing a little Shine Supply can't handle Got it After the Paint Correction is complete, the paint is thoroughly wiped down with Gyeon Prep to remove all the polishing oils and leave a pure surface to start the MOHS+ application After the 2 Layers of MOHS are applied the finish is cured using Infra Red Curing Lamps to get the most gloss and performance out of the base coating Once the base coating of MOHS is cured, it is time to apply Phobic. Phobic is the Top Coat of the 2 Part MOHS+ System that dictates how the surface will treat water and contaminants. MOHS+ is designed to SHEET water from the surface rather than BEAD in order to leave a dry surface that is not as susceptible to water spotting and chemical etching. Phobic is also an SiO2 based Coating and is IR Cured for optimum results. LOTS of gloss in this system While the MOHS+ System is curing completely, we move on to the Wheels. Each wheel is removed for a deep clean using Gyeon Iron. The wheel wells, brake system, and suspension is also given a cleaning Once clean of all embedded contaminants and grime, the wheels are blown dry and given a thorough Gyeon Prep wipe down. And they are ready for Gyeon Rim The Wheel Face, Drums, and Brake Calipers are coated in Gyeon Rim Gyeon Tire is also applied at this point Once the surfaces are coated, they are set to cure under the IR lamp Now on to the exterior and engine bay Trim and Plastics Up next is the application of Gyeon View. This is also a two part system where a bonding agent and cleanser is applied first followed by the SiO2 based coating for maximum bond and performance. On to the interior.
