Vehicle: 2002 Ferrari 360 with Challenge Stradale Front Bumper, Side Skirts, Duck Bill, Wheels, 430 Seats
Gyeon Quartz Certified Detailer: Detail Force, Inc Denver CO (www.DetailForce.com)
Project: Gyeon MOHS PLUS Restorative Detail and Coating Package

As some of you may know, Gyeon Quartz USA is the Official Car Care Partner of the Ferrari Club of America. This 360 was done for the Mid West Regional Director and is a show piece for the full Gyeon Quartz process.

This car is beautiful. It doesn't share the dramatic lines of the 458 and the new 488. But it doesn't feel 14 years old. It just looks crisp and classy. The Challenge Stradale additions bring the perfect amount of pop. The custom exhaust system lets you know it means business. The gated six speed feels perfect. The clutch is smooth with just the proper amount of resistance. The 430 Seats are noticeable and intentional. It's just a very very nice car.

Once corrected, the Gyeon Quartz MOHS+ (Certified Detailers Only) Ceramic Coating system was installed for an incredible shine, long term protection, and the ability for the paint to shed water and contaminants very effectively to preserve the finish for years to come.

The Mohs+ system was then cured with our InfraRed curing lamps to achieve maximum gloss and hardness. What a huge turnaround on this very special project.

Along with the paint, Gyeon Quartz Rim was used to protect the wheels, Gyeon Quartz View on the Windshield and Glass, Gyeon Quartz Tire for the tires, and Gyeon Quartz LeatherCoat and Gyeon Quartz FabricCoat for the interior surfaces.

    The Process:
    1. A thorough wash using Gyeon Quartz Bathe. .
    2. Medium Clay Bar Process to remove the Above Surface Bonded Contaminants from the finish with Gyeon Quartz Clay Lube and Medium Clay
    3. A good soak in Gyeon Quartz Iron to remove the Below Surface Bonded Contaminants
    4. Gyeon Quartz Iron is also used on the Wheels to remove all Iron Ferrous Particles and give them a deep clean
    5. One last wash before the polishing process to remove all decontamination products with Gyeon Quartz Foam
    6. Next is a warm air blow dry using our MasterBlaster.
    7. Tape all trim and possibly dangerous edges to protect them from polishes and machines during paint correction
    8. Using the full range of Rupes Polishers we remove all swirls, holograms, buffer trials, and marring from the paints finish
    9. Give the paint a thorough wipe down in Gyeon Quartz Prep to remove all polishing oils to ensure a pure surface for coating
    10. MOHS+ Time!!! MOHS+ is only available through Gyeon Quartz Certified Detailers. To see a list of installers visit http://gyeonquartzusa.com/web/contact. MOHS+ utilizes a base coat and top coat system to provide incredible gloss and hardness, while creating the ability of the paints surface to SHEET water more than bead. This allows for increased protection from water spotting and chemical etching.
    11. All Gyeon Certified Detailers use InfraRed Curing Lamps to get the most gloss and performance out of the system
    12. While IR Curing is taking place we move on to the Wheels with Gyeon Quartz Rim. We coat the wheels faces only on this project.
    13. Gyeon Quartz View is installed on the windshield and glass to repel water very effectively during bad weather. Gyeon View is also a 2 part system where a bonding agent is applied to the glass prior to the actual SiO2 based coating. Very effective
    14. Once the Wheels are done we move on to the interior with Gyeon Quartz LeatherCoat and Gyeon Quartz FabricCoat
    15. This Ferrari also received Paint Protection Film installed on the Full Hood, Front Bumper, Full Fenders, Side Skirts, A Pillars, and Rear Bumper Sections.

    Check out the pictures!

First up a soak in Gyeon Foam. This foam process begins to loosen and release dirt and debris so we don't further scratch the finish when washing

Proper tools and brushes are always used to safely clean all surfaces

Next up is Gyeon Iron decontamination and Clay Bar treatment

After Iron and Clay Bar you can see the water lay completely flat which tells us that all previous waxes or sealants have been removed

After another wash the vehicle is blown off with our Masterblaster warm air dryer

Now all edges and trim are taped to protect from polishes and machines

Now we can inspect the paint thoroughly and get a feel for the level of defects

    Typically my go to combo

Compounding stage was a breeze...finishing down the gloss black Ferrari paint...not so much...but we got it dialed in

This car just glowed after polish

After Paint Correction was complete she got another bath with Gyeon Foam and a thorough wipe down with Gyeon Prep to remove all the polishing oils and prep for Coating

After the Paintwork is prepped it is time to install the coating. We went with Gyeon Quartz MOHS PLUS for this car. Extreme level of gloss and long term protection

Mohs Plus is a two part ceramic coating. Mohs is used as the base coat. We install 2 layers of Mohs and then cure it with IR lights for maximum gloss and hardness. After Mohs is cured we install Phobic, which is the systems SiO2 based top coat. Phobic tells the coating to SHEET water from the surface rather than bead. This leaves behind as dry a surface as possible to protect from water spots and chemical etching.

    On to Phobic

    Which also gets cured

While we are moving the IR lamp around the vehicle, we move on to the Wheels which received a nice coat of Gyeon Rim and Gyeon Tire

These are done in sequence so the IR lamp can make a stop by the Wheels on its way by

After the Wheels comes Gyeon View for the Windshield. View is a two part system containing Cleanse which acts as a bonding agent between the porous glass and the SiO2 based View top layer. Extremely hydrophobic

The interior was Steam Cleaned and Gyeon Fabric Coat and Leather Coat installed to all surfaces

We coated the Carbon Air Box covers in Gyeon Prime

    Final Shots!
