After selling his S2000, my long time friend was looking for the next fun replacement. His search led him to our local CarMax where he stumbled upon this pristine, low mileage example of a C6 Z06. With just under 5k miles on the clock, the deal was too good to pass up and he decided to take it home. Upon my first inspection it was clear that it was an extremely well taken care of vehicle. It looked like it would end up being a pretty easy and light correction for the exterior. Fast forward to a week later when I get started... Once the exterior was all prepped and I was looking at it under the lights I found the usual washing and wiping marks. But on a few separate panels there were strong clusters of scratches here and there. Toward the front of the car there was also some hard water spotting that was dulling the finish. The interior was in great shape but I was planning on doing a leather cleaning and conditioning to hopefully keep it ship shape. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves but I wish they were a little bit better. This color was very hard to capture defects in the lens but hopefully it will be obvious. Everybody loves some suds... Clay was clean. Checking things out under the lights... Taillights usually look rough. The water spotting I was referring to on either side... Found this little sweetheart under the driver's side mirror... Now for some poor 50 / 50's lol... Fender untouched and hood getting there... No idea what the person was doing that created this mess but it's gone now... Reflectors and paint are much clearer now... Gas cap before... Door still to do... Taillights getting worked out.. Loving the clarity and shine! When the Corvette emblem is masked off, it looks a lot like the Batman symbol... Slapped on the Powerlock to do its thing and moved inside clean up the seats! A little 50 / 50 action... The nastiness that was brought to the surface and wiped away... Done and protected! Nothing crazy to do under the hood. Just cleaned it up a bit. Now for the exciting stuff. I was beyond ready to pull it out in hopes for sunshine and check out how the yellow pops.
A buddy of mine just last year was able to find a similar Z06 with, just like yours "low mileage" What a great find! Awesome job on the detail! Great Photos!!
Awesome job..from 5' away it looked pretty good, but the lights showed it's true colors. Yellow is a tough color and the heavy OP doesn't help.
