Anybody that personally knows me also knows that I'm a HUGE Ferrari nut. So obviously I was pretty excited to help out one of my regulars with his new acquisition, especially since it was a true 6-speed manual. However, it was in definite need of some serious help. There were swirls and light scratches everywhere. This car also used to have a half clear bra at some point. It must have been a while since it has been on though because I could see a clear line, as well as shade of black difference, where the bra used to be and also the swirling was almost as bad where the bra used to be as the rest of the car. I think maybe the previous owner really liked the car and maybe incorrectly washed it a lot and / or dry wiped it often. Going back to the clear bra... whomever removed it did not remove most of the adhesive. I spent quite a bit of time getting left over clear bra adhesive off of the edges of the bumpers where they turn into the wheel wells, scattered on the edges of the hood and bumper, etc. Anyway, as much as I enjoyed picking it up and bringing it back to my house (I may or may not have taken the long way....), I knew it was going to be a lot of work. I'm very happy with the results and how it turned out. Onto the pictures. Enjoy! No clay pics as it wasn't too bad. Moving on to the light inspection... Here is the clear bra line I was talking about on the front hood: And here's an example of the left over adhesive I mentioned: These poor mirrors: These were some of the worst areas! Moving along... Back end looking desperate: Paint was surprisingly on the softer side. I was happy with doing two steps and then sealant. Front bumper 50 / 50 Underneath where the soft top sits was not a pretty sight... The back end was my favorite difference! Front bumper after compound and polish: The exhaust can needed some refining. It's much improved but I wish it could have been better. After compound and polishing before sealant application: Sealant on, sealant off. Pulled outside to see the final results... Wheel faces and spokes were also sealed. Thanks for looking!
