These wheels were part of a full correction and coating on a 2009 Lexus RX350. I wanted to focus on the wheel cleaning, because I actually think this is an overlooked service that consumers should have performed at least once a year.

As you will see in the pictures, this was a wheels off detail. This is the first main point of the detail. I feel that pulling the wheels off and deep cleaning them is a great way to keep them looking new for years.

    Products used:
    Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner
    Various brushes
    Stoner Tarminator
    P21S Total Auto Wash

Coating: Modesta BC-06 spray application using and airbrush.

As you can see, first we must put the vehicle on jack stands or use a dedicated lift to get the wheels off.

Wheels set at the back of the shop. I did not want to get any cleaner on the vehicle, because at this time the paint correction and coating application had been performed.

One thing of note is that I keep these wheels cleaned on a regular basis. I use the SpeedMaster brush always to clean the barrels, but as you will see, deep cleaning is still needed.

Rinsed and tar removed. The textured areas still hold some deep embedded contamination.

Take the time to polish the exterior of the wheels at this time

At this point the tires are cleaned and un-dressed.

Great time to clean the inner wheel wells that you never see.

Now these wheels will stay cleaner longer and when they are cleaned,it will be much faster.

    Enjoy,
