I've got to go ahead and give a shout out to Mr. Sparkle since I referenced his thread several times during this correction. Ironically the one he did was the same year and color. Had he not just done that thread shortly before I worked on this one, I would probably have been scratching my head for a while. So for that, thank you!

This car only has about 4k miles on it and I was told that it was a "corporate car" that received corporate treatment, aka dealership washes for the duration of it's young life so far. This paint is so photogenic (as you will see later) and had some serious potential but was not cared for properly beforehand.

I had not experienced anything like this before regarding the sticky paint that Subarus are known for. It would immediately solidify and it would take every effort and arm strength to wipe off. But like Mr. Sparkle said in his thread, it only happened with the compound. Once the polish step came, it was effortless like usual.

Anyway, enough babbling. Here are the pictures.

    Foam wash
    Clay bar
    Dried
    Masked
Griot's 6" DA with Uber Orange / Green foam pads and Meguiar's Microfiber Cutting pads
    Menzerna FG400
    Menzerna SF4000
    Menzerna Powerlock

The car wasn't available until after I usually like to get started due to the positioning of the sun but I made it work and found some shade.

Time was precious so no clay pics.

Starting the walk around the car to check out the true condition.....

Hood and roof weren't too terrible but the sides and trunk took the most abuse....

Correction came relatively easily but took all my energy getting the compound off the surface.....

    Oh yeah....

Sunlight peeking through the garage door cracks exposing the mega flake that would be coming!

    Fender looking good

Pretty pressed for time at this point I forgot to snap direct after pics of the rear end but you can see them later after it's pulled outside.

    Recently debadged.

Cleaned up the SPT Exhaust a little bit. Sounded fantastic.

Powerlock wiped off...Pulled outside...I was all smiles after that. Love this color and love how the flake pops so hard now!
