I'm hoping to put together a good list of products so I get it right the first time, but I'm unsure of a few things. If you guys could help me through this process, I'd greatly appreciate it. 1. Winter: - Does anybody know of an affordable soap with a high level of lather & lubricity that won't strip wax off the paint? The main thing I'm looking for here is a ton of lubricty, as my vehicle sits on the street all winter. 2. Non-corrected paint in Summer: - is it better to use a gloss or non gloss soap on paint yet to be corrected? -any suggestions for a good product (wax etc) that will temporarily achieve the look of a properly paint-corrected vehicle? 3. Corrected Paint in Summer: are there any pros or cons to using a glossy soap on a surface that's already been cut, polished and waxed? I think that's about it for right now guys. If you have any tips, especially in regards to winter detailing safety, I'm all ears! Thanks Mr. Clean
welcome! 1. you can use Adam's Car Wash/Shampoo its a good one - priced right and you can use it all year round. 2. doesn't really matter as once you decide to correct the paint you will probably have to do a pre wash, wash, decon, clay anyway. - you would probably want to use an all in one or a glaze then wax to hide some of the imperfections - Auto Finesse Tripple is a good one. 3. nope again the soap really doesn't matter as long as you have one that is not going to strip the last step.
My car is always parked outside and accumulates a lot of dirt and salt in the winter times. Would I be best to mix a high concentration of a soap like CG CWG, and then apply a coat of spray wax after each wash? I'm worried that a soap like DG901 or Optimum wouldn't cut the dirt as well. Thanks
