Before you read my reply, please understand that I am the manufacturer and inventor of Black Wow. I wanted to make that clear from the start.

A bit of glass cleaner and a mf glass towel will take it off your windshield. If BW were easy to remove, it wouldn't last long on your plastic, now would it?
That's funny. I've always read how much people love the smell of BW. Would you prefer a "natural melon" smell?? What exactly would that smell like? Like Calogero said, it is my favorite candy---Watermelon Jolly Ranchers. =) I'm glad you like it despite the smell. Hopefully even though it's "artificial" to you, it should still be pleasant smelling. =)

Haha.... don't lose any sleep over the smell thing. Like I said, I still use the product, I am just odd with smells. I can't stand anything melon-like (artificial or natural) for some strange reason. I also can't stand the taste of melon, but thankfully ingestion of the Black Wow is not a critical part of the application process :giggle:

Thanks for posting, and for a great product!

Only comes in 4oz because this one little bottle will last you a long long time.

    Over a year for sure.

That's good value for your buck.

    Thanks for the welcome.

I'm here to support my retailers like DetailersDomain. Any inquiries related to sales should be directed to them and not me please. And as Calogero said, if you're using the product correctly--sesame seed sized amounts--a 4oz bottle will last a JEEP owner around 3.5 years providing over 40 full car applications. I had a customer at one of my clinics do an entire Jeep--front and rear bumper, side trim, roof rack, fender flares with less than 1/8th OZ of BW.

Until people realize that BW goes a very long way, longer than any other product, looks better, lasts longer, and it's super easy to apply--do they suddenly realize that it's not an expensive product--though initially compared to almost anything else out there it seems that way.

I like to think of it this way--how much did you pay for your last bottle of wax and how long did it last??? If it's a good wax, it probably cost you atleast $20 or maybe significantly more and with application a couple times a year, I'm sure the bottle lasted you quite awhile.

the entire product, yeah it's really weird since on my textured trim, it's working but not on smooth...

What's most important is how porous the plastic is--regardless of whether it's smooth or textured. The product needs to be able to be absorbed into it to do it's "magic". I've applied BW to painted metal bumpers and it looks great for awhile. Even beads water, but it doesn't last long because it's really just a temporary surface coating.

That's why when it's applied properly on plastic trim (that accepts the BW), the glossy wet look is washed off--what's on the surface--but the BW that's absorbed stays--so it continues to last as a matte dark finish. For those that say BW runs, they are likely witnessing the excess product that's on the surface.

Do you have any pix of what the smooth trim looks like? I'm just curious.

Used this product today on my bumper trim ( 93 Integra ) This composition is to me part plastic, part rubber. It was easy to apply, and little used. I was impressed with the results. I tried a small section on my 98 Ford pu truck, handle for the back tail gate. On that small section, it was superior to anything i have ever used, awesome. I know this is a brief review, but i just wanted to follow up on this new product. Is there a chance Wow could be designed for more non-porous type plastic/ rubber? I thank Phil for the sample, many thanks to a great guy.

After the rain this past weekend and this week I did accumulate some streaks. Under my door handle and side mirrors. My application method was to apply sparingly and then come back and buff off excess. This was on my black paint which shows everything. My plastic still looks great after all the rain.
Any suggestions on application? I guess I can try the apply, wait, then spray with water then buff.

Perhaps you're still using to much.

    1. Clean the surface.
    2. Apply Black Wow
    3. Wipe off any excess.

Why under your door handles do you have streaks?

You have any pictures to share of ths and maybe we can help you out more.

When testing BW, people should be clear on where they are applying it. If you're getting streaks under the door handles, sounds like maybe you applied it to the rubber around the window above the door handle? If that's so, then that's because BW wasn't intended for rubber.

If that's not the case, then I would suggest applying BW, wash the car or just the trim, then evaluate it again. As is stated in the instructions and on the website, any excess will come off after the first wash.

Any BW that sits on the surface that isn't absorbed into the plastic will come off. Very simply.

Also I think the term "streaking" should be clarified. When I put on a dressing and it streaks--it looks uneven on the trim--thus streaking. Is that what you're seeing?

    Thanks for posting your evaluation!

I cleaned the surfaces with diluted apc. My door handles are textured plastic. I will post pics.

I applied it directly to the textured plastic of the door handle. It is a Dodge Ram '03 if you know what I am talking about before I can get pics up. I guess you could call it running/streaking. It runs down my paint or puts streaks on my paint. I will try the wash method next time. I will try to get pics this afternoon. I havent applied to rubber as I read that it isn't intended for this.

    Thanks for the feedback

OOOh, ok, now I understand. Just a note, depending on how oxidized the handles were if at all--a pea sized dot or smaller is enough for that whole handle area--the more oxidized it is, the more it wants to "drink" the BW.

The streaking that you experienced is most likely runoff of excess product. Like I've said before, if you take your applicator pad from a previous BW application..and rub that into the plastic, even THAT excess in the pad is often enough to treat the intended area.

I treated an old Isuzu Trooper yesterday and the trim was horrible. The owner had been looking for a product for years--he eventually resorted to steel wool, lol. I'll post pix later.

    Thanks for the clarification.

Ok, pix of BW applied to severely oxidized trim on a 1994?? Isuzu Trooper.

Pea sized amounts were used. The trim was very thirsty, so it accepted the BW easily and quickly.
