If you haven't heard the news Paul Dalton and Rupes are no longer working together as a sponsor. So he will not be using their polishers or products anymore. If you don't know who Paul is, he is know as " the worlds best Detailer " he is very meticulous when it comes to detailing and his passion for detailing has brought huge changes to the detailing world. He has many detailing videos on YouTube and owns Miracle Detail in Cranleigh, England. Now with that said, how will this effect you and your business? I'm just curious to see how many will follow Paul and drop there Rupes products and go another route. What's your opinion towards the matter? To those like Phil at detailersdomain who sell Rupes. To all those who detail full time and those who detail for fun. In no way am I trying to start any arguments with this post and I'm not trying to cause any trouble for either side of the party. I have nothing but respect for Paul and his decision to move on. I personally don't care for the Rupes polishes and pads with exception of the yellow pad. I do like their polishers for I have the 21, duetto and the mini and. I'm very happy with them. Of corse there is alway room for improvement. I'm a bit old school and still grab the Makita and a wool pad to cut the heavy scratches with. Once. I used the Rupes 21 it was a huge time saver for me and I feel that the quality of my work was coming out better and easier.
My honest opinion it will have no affect on the Rupes polishers or sales. But that's my personal opinion.
As much as I like Paul, I really don't think it will effect PRO detailers or anyone else for that matter. I mean he was sponsored. To me what it means is that he wasn't selling enough products to justify what RUPES was investing in Paul, if that is the case. I could be wrong. If anything, in general, I'd want to know what Phil is using. Like would I get better at basketball by buying the same sneakers as KOBY
I'm curious if he's going to still use the machines, polishes/compounds, and pads. I don't see why not since he's getting excellent results from them from all these years. maybe he just won't publicize them in his videos, pictures, and write-ups, and give them free adverstisement...
It is all about $$$$. I doubt he dropped Rupes due to performance. If people stop using quality products due to something like this then they are sheep!
I use what works for me. I got over the " famous guy uses _____________ " a long time ago. Same goes for what's reported on various forums and groups. You learn who will give you the straight story about a product or device and who is a shill for brand -X. As for PD being the worlds best detailer , hmmm... I can't say because I have never seen any of his work. He very well may be the most famous detailer.
My rupes still works just fine! If anything a big change in polishes/pads or some really big development in machines would change the industry.
