Recently completed, this rare colored(Blue water metallic)E-39 M5 was fun to make as new once again. Very low mileage example but with most of the car re-sprayed the shop who did the work laid down a quality paint job except for the sanding and cutting/polishing of the finish.

Getting ready for a thorough wash to begin the job.

Compound and wax in every crevice.

    Removal of compound.

    Hood spray washers encrusted.

    De-crusted.

Example of sanding scratches left behind.

    Same area defects are corrected.

I would take breaks from sanding scratch removal to attend to getting issues like this resolved, dried up wax.

    Roundel free of wax.

Under edge of spoiler with wax build up.

    Removed.

    Tail lights marred.

    Clarity restored.

    As stated every crevice.............................

    After.

    Marred C-Pillars.

    Progression of correction.

50/50 on the trunk, deep marring and sanding scratches.

All of the trunk leveled and clarity restored.

Rear door trim with deep defects.

Defects corrected, just refining of compound haze to follow up.

In the sun a forgiving color like this can mask deep defects, under certain lighting the real finish is exposed.

    Clarity restored.

After all the finish was corrected and finished down, the car was ready for a major clearfilm wrap operation by CFT films coming up So.Cal once again by request of the client.

While the trim was out, I set out to remove dried up wax from the textured trim(No fun.............).

    Getting better.......

What the trim looked like before removal of the wax.

Now that the film was on, I let it sit overnight and would complete the needed tasks to complete the job.

    Dry door seals.

After clean up of the seals and the camera lens.

    More dryness.

Much better, also time to do fine edge work to remove compound on the inside of the trunk.

    Circa 2003 Cosmoline drip.

    Trunk clean & organized.

    As new engine bay.

Wheels on point, new Super Sport Michelin tire upgrade.

    "Time capsule" like interior.

Not like new, but a new car even eleven years later.

    Great job, Bob!

I was wondering, as I am going to be cleaning my spray nozzles soon as well, what did you do to clean them so well? I have seen tools for cleaning them, but I did not exactly trust them.

Thank you gentlemen, the car did come out great and I still love this model(So does the client who owns it as it is his 4th E-39 M5) has everything you need except the latest Nav/tech packages current models have.
