Beeds HD is an ultra-hydrophobic solvent free ceramic paint treatment. Cost: Retail $225 Size:50mL Cost/ml: $4.50 Usage rate: One bottle can coat 5-8 entire vehicles. Hydrophobic capabilities With any coating you are going to get very good hydrophobic capabilities and Beeds HD is no exception. Doing a pooling rinse will leave you with almost no water at all. We drove a vehicle coated with Beeds HD through the rain and when we arrived at our destination the car was almost completely dry. Another major benefit of being so hydrophobic is that dirt and oils cannot stick easily as well so the vehicle stays cleaner much longer. Resistance to chemicals Again as with most coating there is a strong resistance to chemicals, a test in which Beeds HD strongly stood its ground. Removal was attempted with ammonia, 91% IPA, white vinegar, and adhesive remover. Many very harsh chemicals for paint that we would not recommend you attempt. Even claying had a difficult time removing the coating and took very long for a single section. The only way to really remove it would be to machine polish it off. Durability Beeds HD is stated to last 36 months and although we have not tested it for that length of time we do defiantly believe this. Due to the intense testing it withstood and testimonies from other detailers who have had it applied for longer. Of course durability always depends on the conditions your vehicle faces; heat, chemicals, abrasion, etc. Ease of application and removal Since this product is free of any solvents that most coatings have, which are very dangerous by the way, there is no flash time. You simply apply the product, allow it to sit for a few minutes to bond, and buff off. It is mind-blowingly easy for how durable it is. Applying Beeds HD is just as easy as applying a sealant or wax, but with the amazing protection of quartz. Multiple coats can be layered within a couple hours for extra protection and durability. This goes for all surfaces that it is applied to as well. Where it can be applied This is where Beeds HD really stands out from the crowd, other than being solvent free. If I had to describe Beeds HD in one word, it would be versatility. This amazing coating can be applied to paint, wheels, exhaust, polished aluminum, rubber trim, plastic trim, headlights/tail lights, matte finishes, even convertible tops! This coating can be applied either by hand or sprayed on via hplv gun. It is amazingly durable on all of these surfaces and can withstand extremely high temperatures. We had this coating applied to a track vehicle’s wheels and calipers. After many laps the coating showed no sign of letting up. Look Very glossy and “candy-like”. It does not offer the same warm glow a premium carnauba does but gives a ridiculous amount of gloss that increases a few days after application. Pros Easy to apply/remove Solvent FREE Extremely hydrophobic Versatility Comes in a brown glass bottle to protect the product inside from UV rays Cons Not readily available for consumers, YET. Was not introduced to me sooner Conclusion As you can tell, we absolutely love this coating. Not only is it as durable and hydrophobic as other top coatings on the market, if not more, but it is solvent free. This is a huge difference as the solvents that are in other coatings are very dangerous to your health, which is why the recommend wearing a mask when applying. For me, no matter how good a product is, it is not worth a health risk. Not to mention most people are applying coating s in garages where there isn’t always adequate ventilation. It is also extremely versatile, with all the surfaces it can cover; you can coat virtually the entire exterior of your vehicle with a single product and get optimal results on every surface. The addition of the brown glass bottle to shield the product from UV is a nice touch that shows this company knows EXACTLY what they are doing. ATTENTION Beeds does not make claims no product can realistically live up to like many of the other coatings on the market. This is one of the main reasons we love this company. Do not get caught up in claims of “scratch resistant”, “permanent coating”, “will prevent water spots”, etc. No matter what coating you put on your vehicle it will not be permanent. Also while it may have some resistance to scratches, waters sports, etc., it does not PREVENT them. There is a huge difference. Coatings are amazing but they are not impervious. You cannot put it on and never have to worry about anything, shoot laser beams, and drive though a hurricane and have perfect paint. These are exaggerations but the point is while coatings are amazing, think of them as an extremely durable sealant, not as an end all be all protection for your vehicle.
I have been hearing a lot about this coating lately. Have you done further testing? How does it compare to the leading coatings?
We went through many tests, what did you want to know? The only thing we have yet to see is how long it lasts on a few specific vehicles we applied it to, as only time will tell, but there are so many factors that play into this any way. As far as other coatings we have found it is much easier to apply, there is no flash off time that other coatings have since they are solvent based. As far as hydrophobic and cleaning ability they are as good. There is a plateau you reach as far as measuring hydrophobic properties when both have water sheet off like crazy. It can also be applied to MANY surfaces with the same effect, as well as being able to be sprayed on to get every nook and cranny.
