Got another write up, this time for a '89 328. Just switched owners, and the last owner kept the interior in absolutely perfect condition, although the paint was in pretty poor shape. Went with a two stage correction and exterior and interior detail.

First I started with the interior, pulled all mats and carpets and hit them with 409 and a Griots with brush.

Now on to the seats, taped up to get a 50/50, they were pretty clean.

    50/50, not a big difference

Next took out the whiter gate and knob to polish and clean up, and clean under it.

Went on to clean center console

    Looking good

50/50 on doors, again not much difference.

    Conditioned with Zymol Leather

Carpets hit with 409 and Griots and brushes.

    Backs of seats done

End of day one with a good 50/50 of the booklet.

Beginning of day two looked like this: wheels were taken off for cleaning.

    Taken outside for a wash

Now onto paint. Went with a two step Menzerna FG400 with Power Gloss. On a 6inch Griots with Uber yellow and orange pads.

Started in the back after being taped off,

After first couple passes it was looking good. FG400 cutting ability is great!

    Getting some 50/50

    Then this happened:

    Went everywhere.

    Day 3

Continued working, hood and fender 50/50

Pulled out turn it around, looking good

    Back in she goes

Another 6-7 hours and she was done. Gave her a good coat of Adams Buttery Wax.

    Final results.

Great job. Always love working on the older ones.

Did you have any paint transfer on this one or was the car factory cleared. Around those years is when they stopped using single stage paint.....I've made a few red pads doing older Ferraris :p

Thanks for the kind words, and as far as paint goes, it was cleared. I thought at first it was a single stage, as like you said, most where from this time period. Turns out it wasn't, lucky me!

Sick job! I didn't realize pads could just disintegrate like that. Crazy

Looks like you did a great job. Scared me seeing those wheels face down on the concrete though. Guessing the tires stuck out a bit more than the wheels.

Yeah they do! Made sure of that. Getting one of these wheels redone wouldn't be cheap! Thanks for the kind words.
