I use 303 for everything in my interior besides leather seats. My only real issue is when I come along to a really soiled car that needs multiple cleaning passes. I don't like the idea of building up to much protectant by using 303 over and over to get a soiled surface clean. So i'm looking for a mild cleaner to use on my interior surfaces that won't build up any gunk. Also to use on my steering wheel and shift knobs since I don't like any protectant on them since it makes them to slick. I used a 10 to 1 Simple Green to water mix recently and it worked great, used it with a detail brush to build up a lather on my steering wheel/arm rests/shift knob then wiped clean with a microfiber and it made it look new. Only issue was the smell was not what i was looking for as well as after some googleing people had issues with simple green discoloring things. Thanks for any insight you guys could give me.
Best light interior cleaner with matte finish = 1z einsett cockpit premium. Heavily soiled areas try meguiars APC diluted 10:1.
1Z Cockpit Premium for me too. The Megs Qwik Interior Detailer is quite similar though. Probably a little stronger cleaner.
I've been using sonax dash cleaner for the past 2 years its my go to product. For really dirty interiors I use 1z deep plastic cleaner.
I've had great luck with Optimum Power Clean...available by the gallon, leaves a nice matte finish and clean smell behind. Works well on the dirtiest interiors but is delicate on leather and cloth. Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner works well too but it seems to leave leather a little dry in my experience. I've also used 1z Cockpit and I love it but often the vehicles I get are so dirty that I need a more inexpensive bulk product. For really bad cars (such as smokers vehicles) I have used Zep Citrus degreaser (available at Home Depot by the gallon).
