    Hello everyone!
So i been looking around and have seen some things about how easy it is to apply Chemical guys Second Skin 6, I am curious about how well it protects and the durability of the product? If anyone has had any experience with this product let me know what you thought of it and any tips to using it. Right now im a Sonax Polymer net shield guy but like the idea of an easy to apply coating as an in between sealant and opti-coat detail package?

    Thank you everyone,
    Matt

I've never used this product but I think there is no justification for the high prices.

IMO, CG products are meh and overpriced. Their soaps are ok, but they are all extremely similar to each other. If I was you, I would seriously consider Duragloss Enviroshield before a CG product. Great price and DG doesn't dissapoint.

That is my take too, over-hyped and under-performing

100% agree with everything said above -- skip it, won't be worth it, it's all marketing.

There coating is over priced based on what I saw it do. I agree go with DG
They were last to the party and put out a mediocre product at best.

I use quite a few CG products you just have to pick the right one's.

Chemical Guys Second Skin 6 long term test - start (on 28.07.2014)

    Preparation steps:

    Wash and full decontamination.
Light polish with various polishes and pads but mostly with Meguiar's D300 on Rupes yellow pad using Rupes Duetto.
Very thorough degreasing with 4nano Final Wipe and Gtechniq Panel Wipe.

At the end one layer of Chemical Guys Second Skin 6 was applied and the car was in the garage for 48 hours.

Chemical Guys Second Skin 6 long term test - first update (on 30.07.2014)

The behavior of water after 48 hours after application (the car all this time was in the garage). I do not know what to think. The coating is on the car because it is clearly visible - gloss and glass effect. But the water "says" that there is no coating on the car.

Chemical Guys Second Skin 6 long term test - second update (on 23.09.2014)

    First wash after 56 days.

    A few comments:
    - mileage: about 3000-4000 km
    - coating is still visible in my opinion
    - car gets dirty very little, despite a wide variety of weather conditions (lots of sun, dust, wind and rain)
    - coating does not protect against bird drops, traces of the hard / acidic water
    - the car wash easily in spite of such a long period of not touching
    - no beading and I think this is an advantage especially in the summer
    - water sheeting is slow, but exact

I still do not know what to think about this product.
I have to do a second test on a car which is often washed.
