    Gemini,

Well my main point is to establish a healthy lifestyle and then use supplements to boost what you are doing already. Seeing what you do for a living I know which way you are going to lean.

I'm not saying supplements are bad, but too many people think they are the answer....they need to be used to enhance an already healthy lifestyle. Too many people eat a bunch of junk and expect a diet pill to work magic.

I used to take protein supplements when I was lifting and trying to gain weight (there was only so much chicken and lean meat I could eat)

Last time I checked supplements are not cheap either.

One bit of advice I would give anybody reading this and that is when/if you purchase something look for the cGMP stamp on the package of whatever you buy. It will insure that what is says on the label is actually in the product.

I agree with you 100%. People oft times are looking for that "magic pill" but often fail in there goals due to not altering there already unhealthy lifestyle. As for the cost of stuff don't go to GNC or even Vitamin Shoppe. Shop online just like it were detail supplies....:D

lol i dont know that much really. I have lots and lots and lots to learn. I have a prof who is very into nutriution (has a book and is workong on another, he is very knowedgale on the topic soi can ick his brain... and i do) I am learning as i go, however i have the basics covered....well sorta.. As i get more info i will share it
I agree you need to eat a well balance diet for suppliments to work, they aren ot a cure all by anymeans, however they should not be writen off just because you are eating well... it sucks but in todays world they are needed
And they are not cheap at all. Luckly i get my suppliments for wholesale prices through my prof.
yes good manufaturing practices are a must. There are a few other things to look for as wel... i just cannot remeber them and dont have mt book with me.

I will ask my prof if i can post the questions to ask the suppliment provider on here

I figured we were on the same page, but I must not have made my point clear in my first post....Damn I sounded like supplements were evil or something! Mis-used by the general public would be more like it.

    Good luck Calgary.

Just curious, what are your fitness goal.

Fitness is like detailing, ask 10 detailers how to do something and you will get about 8 different answers.

haha thanks, and idont have a "fintess goal" i have a nutrial goal that includes fitness.. what i mean by that is I have a few health issue (im older then i should be) and right now live like a student, its taking its toll so i have personal goals on energy levels and overall health i want to achive.

Suppliments and nutrition are just a part of that.

thats another good pint, supplimnets and nutrition should be part of an overall health system that works for you

Best of luck to you with that. Thats not a fun disease as my father has had type 1 for about 13 years or so now and his overall health has gone downhill since being diagnosed.

it could be worse, i dont have cancer, i dont have ms, i dont have alot of things that could be wrose.

It takes some work, and can lead to long term problems however that life.

that sucks about your father, but with alot of work he can get better... I went to the doc today and my A1C was not where itshould be so there is that very real possibilty of problems....

but i was dignosed at 14months so its te only life i know

and im not trying to get sympathy here... i dont belive in sympathy... im just saying it as it is....

ohh one thing your dad should do (which im sure already knows) is go to the doc and get tested for other autoimine diseises. i know my diabities has lead to other things like celiac. the diet is harder but its easier to controll the blood sugrs when you know the other problems......:applause2:

He's been tested for everything. He's in and out the hospital all of the time due to the fact he also suffers from congestive heart failure. Combine the two and you have some issues.

i think i read this saying on another detailing site, it escapes me at the moment who always has this saying everytime he posts a thread or replys to one, "life live it while you can". i don't know why but it just seemed appropriate to bring that saying up.

I don't take a direct supplement for this usually.

I get it from almonds, virgin oil, salmon and Udo's Oil.

But yes, healthy fats will help you get lean.

  17. Gemini13

    Udo's is good stuff.

I used to take Greens Plus Multi (Canadian) but I don't anymore because it takes a lot of effort. Greens plus is pretty good for you, but ya it doesn't look or taste great.

I just take one-a-day for men every morning. I am not sure if it will do anything, but I don't think it hurts.

Sneek. that Green Plus stuff is awesome.

At first, it takes like crap - sour apple. puke. But then you get used to it. I loved taking it as a vitamin supplement.

But gosh its so expensive. I wish I can find it for cheap.
