I just picked up a 2014 Mercedes-Benz GL450 and I applied some rain-x to the windshield and now my wipers now skip when they down wipe.what should I do now? Any help would be great..
Did you clay the glass first to remove the contaminants? Did you let the Rain-X dry up to a haze and remove any residues with an alcohol-free glass cleaner? If you did both and your wipers are skipping, I can't help you. If you didn't do both, do them and report back, because I use the same method and have been using Rain-X for 10 years with no issues, but the glass has to be clayed and clean prior to application, don't overapply the product, and make sure all residues are wiped clean with non-alcohol glass cleaner (so it doesn't strip the Rain-X on buff)
HI, I CLAYED IT, APPLIED RAIN-X TWICE LET IT HAZE AND SPRAYED STONERS INVISIBLE GLASS TO CLEAN OFF THE HAZING.
How old are the wipers? The only time my wipers skipped with Rain-X was when the wipers were past their prime. As soon as I put on new wipers, the skipping went away. I've been using Rain-X for more than 15 years....wouldn't drive a car in the rain without it...and we get a lot of rain here on the Wet Coast.
Replace the wiper blades. I have the Rain-X Latitude wiper blades on my F150 and my Mustang and have had no issues with using Rain-X.
You should be be spraying the hazed Rain-X with H20 not glass cleaner. Use distilled water so your depositing minerals to the glass. When you take care of that clean your blades with IPA the apply silicone spray to the blades let it dry well before using
