Ok my mate didi came round for a preshow detail as we were off to santa pod the following day for The Fast Show.

His car i knew already would be a tricky customer as i have seen it many times and was in quite poorly condition....

Being Rosso Red i decided to do a detail with loɯʎz Ital to compliment the colour for him....

Didi turned up at 8.30 and i got cracking..First up i presoaked the lower half with p21 citrus degreaser..

On the wheels Megs apc was used with my wheel brushes needing my 2" and 1" for behind the callipers aswell as my Swissvax brush for the faces...

The car was then foam bathed on a straight snow foam mixture 1cm to 1 litre and no shampoo was added hence amazing foam..

The whole car was foamed and left to dwell for 5 minutes

After 5 minutes the foam was sprayed off

    Arches were thoroughly cleaned out

and then using 2 bucket method with loɯʎz Autowash and loɯʎz sponge the car had its first wash..

    before being sprayed off again

Next using loɯʎz autowash as a clay lubricant mixed with ro water i clayed the car

The car actually had really bad contamination apart from the roof which was bizarre

The car was then fully washed again and sprayed off

and 25 litres of zero ppm ro water poured over to aid with drying and water runs..

The car was then dryed using Aquatouch drying towel x 2..

This car has zero protection on it and water just sits flat on it when wet , the panels are flat and faded aswell and my major concern were faded panels with clearcoat over the top mixed with a panel with a solid colour which i was hoping i could bring into line with the rest of the car...Even just a proper wash procedure combined with a good clay had done wonders to the car.

The duck bucket water was also very dirty

Next into the garage and masking up

Theres something very sexy about the front end of these cars and i know they are little pocket rockets as although my car is running standard internals now didi was all over my ar$e at Pistonheads Sunday Service.

Now onto inspection...I wont fib about this detail because i know its a damage limitation detail because i am not going to be able to remove alot of the damage in the clearcoat on this car....One egg , a scourer and a roof pretty unrepairable spring to mind although i know that i will get is as best i can with what i have to play with...As long as Didi,s happy im happy.

    OUCH!!

So today i used 3m fast cut plus , 80349 and also Menx 3.02 on various panels.. Pads used were sonus fx1 and 2 and 3m waffle weave combined with ultrafina on bonnet only due to time..

Starting on roof seeing what can be achieved with the bad scratching..

I actually used fast cut plus followed with 3.02 just to see what i thought and results were pleasing but the conditions were working perfectly for me today and menz didnt play around at all...

    3m 80349 on the sides and fx1..

Front wing finished baring the odd scratch i didnt feel safe to remove and stonking chip.

Now i was looking forward to the bonnet and ultrafine compound worked beautifully on it..The paint looked stonking after correcting and i wish i had had batteries in my ptg to test the thickness to see if it had been resprayed which i believe it has ..

The bonnet was then ultrafina,d with 3m waffle and taken outside quickly so i could see it in the light..

It then started to fine mist rain so car put in and bought in sons bike...(Vintage beading..lol)

The started on the rear of the car

Rain stopped so opened garge up to see what it looked like..Didi was an excited lad...

    Rear wing corrected

    Side Finished

The car was now corrected as best i could although deep scratches were evident...Photos do the car justice in that department.

I decided to Jetseal109 the wheels and give them a good hour to cure..

I then Hd cleansed the car and removed immediately.

Wax today as already mentioned loɯʎz Ital simply because of the nature of the car and wax to compliment rosso red.

Wax applied by pad not hand today

and buffed off with sonus buffing towel

Now the car was waxed i then black wowed all exterior trim

and then applying water mist to tissue and buffing off excess ...

    Exhaust cleaned with Autosol

Metal fuel cap cleaned with autosol also

Black wow now watered and buffed down..

    Jetseal now taken off

and tyres treated with loɯʎz tyre for a more natural sheen and not gloss wet look very Ferrari i might add.:p

All rubber treated with aerospace 303 and car then field glazed....

    Didi was a chuffed....

    THE RESULTS

simply because i think with the loɯʎz waxes i can achieve a more even coverage and my hands are not as soft as they were and this paint marked easily..
