Maybe a n00b question... Got my car washed this weekend and I noticed a lot of what looks like swirlies, but in groups of straight lines. About 2 seconds later I realized this is from my snow brush clearing the snow off my car. I'm using some Costco specials with fairly soft bristles to try to keep the paint in decent-looking shape. They never touch the ground, and I run my hand through the bristles a couple of times before/after each use to "clean" them (or, rather, make sure there aren't any salt crystals lurking in the depths.) I don't push down on the brushes or force them against the car, I let the weight of the brush do all the work. The marks are concentrated around the trunk, roof, windows, hood, and mirror caps, all the areas I use the brush. Is this avoidable with a different brush, or just a cost of living in snow-prone areas?
I only use a snow brush to clean the windows, I use a leaf blower to clean snow off my cars. Don't know of any brushes that will not cause some scratches when cleaning snow.
I`ve been using this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Snow-Joe-Snow-Broom-with-Ice-Scraper/21098141 On clearance for Wal-Mart for $8.88 right now. I got one cheap earlier in the year as well.
Same as the snow brum it works the same but cheaper . I have one in the work truck . I like that it has a place to snap the handle for storage.
