this is the best I can do:

The white spots you see are not Pine Sap. The marks were left *after* the sap was removed.

Two pics after washing and claying:

After a trying the correction, I figured out i was going to have to wet sand with 3,000.

Unfortunately, thats the nature of the beast. We deal with that alot here in MI. The worst is trying to explain to our customers about what to expect. Yeah the residue is completely removed, but this is what happens when stuff like that gets neglected. What product did you use to remove it before the polishing process, and do you have any before photos?

Sorry no befores. But it was just white blobs in the areas that you see the drop shaped marks. Streaks are streaks left as the sap fell in drops and ran down the paint. This is old damage that was left after sap removal. And the subsequent vengeful removal of 5 pine trees by professionals.

The pine sap was landing on this car faster than I could get it off. Litterally, I was working on the car and pine sap was falling on me. That sealed the fate of the gd pine trees.

But, I tried turtle wax bug and tar, various cleaner waxes, wd 40, carburetor cleaner and I guess the best thing was rubbing alcohol (isopropyl). I tried a small spot on the door handle with turtle wax white rubbing compound and that started to lighten up the mark but also clouded the paint so stopped that right away. I clayed the car a couple of times which did help some of the marks a tiny bit.

Then I got serious and got a da and some compound. It wasn't enough. In order too make a difference I had to wet sand with 3000 and a tiny bit of Dawn dish soap in the water.
then I could paint correct and get a lot off.

it's really too bad cause where the paint isn't damaged, it really sparkles.

PS: See that little white mark that looks like a seesaw on the trunk? That was a pine needle with sap on it that landed on the paint. White Pine by the way.
