The experience of getting a new car should always be amazing. The joy and excitement you feel when you see that perfect, pretty car and know it's yours. While I love the Tesla business model of not having a dealership, it can offer up some difficulties for new owners. With a dealership, you see the car that you're getting and know it is delivered the way you would like. With dropping off new cars to clients, Tesla can't ensure every customer likes what they see. This time, this was the case.

The client contacted me for an Opti-Coat Pro application, and paint protection film covering the full hood, full fenders, and bumper. #I always insist on at least a 1 step polish before applying any coating. What can happen is if a car is coated before being corrected the swirls and scratches then get trapped underneath the coating. Once I was able to see the condition of this car, we decided that full correction was going to be needed. This car was 3 days old when I took these pictures.

I began with a complete wash using 50/50 Chemical Guys citrus wash and clear and Dawn, as well as a full decontamination to the paint of this Tesla. I then was able to see some other issues. You can see some sanding marks that were left from the factory.

I began with the correction step using M105 and a Meg's MF cutting disk. I then followed this up with a Rupes White pad and some Optimum Hyper Polish. #After all of this correction, there was quite a bit of dust. I wanted to ensure all of the polishing oils were removed so I washed the car again with the same procedure as before. I then wiped the entire car down with a Isopropyl Alcohol wipe down to ensure I was down to just paint and no oils were left on the surface. I then followed up with Opti-Coat PRO. Sorry for the lack of outdoor pictures, with a wet ground and a cloudy sky it didn't do anything to help pictures and would have just gotten the car dirty before delivery.

Awesome job. I've had the pleasure of working on several Teslas. Most were a 2-step correction. That paint is very sensitive so I am not surprised to see the before condition of these pics. Good thing is it's a very easy paint to correct.

I bet whatever tax credit the owner may get for purchasing an electric car was wiped out by need have a 3-day old car fully corrected. That is a nice blue. Love those side shots. Came out great.
