Traded my 300 in finally. I had been hit 3 times (2 were women without insurance), and the dealer worked their magic on warranty work too many times. Got something a little sportier, and nicer to drive. 2010 BMW 335XI. I wanted something AWD for the winters, especially since I have to drive farther for work. Plus, the twin turbo 6 cylinder is fun too... But, its black. I have yet to work on a JB BMW, but have seen how quite a few people have mentioned how much of a pain it is.

So, to help me out with all that, I decided to invest in some more supplies. I bought the rupes 21 kit, with the sonax polishes. I have a wide array of uber and lc pads, as well as mf and surbuf pads. I plan on using carpro cquartz as the lsp when its all said and done. I look forward to seeing how it holds up compared to the OC on my friends and families vehicles.

I'll try to get some pictures up when I get some sun, but working mandatory overtime all week means I see no sun... But I look forward to the challenge, and using new tools and products. Advice is always welcome!

    NickBlaine -

Congratulations on getting the Bimmer !
I am a BMW junkie and have been for almost 2 decades.

Totally understand Jet Black and have had a few that color and corrected hundreds more.
This color is actually easy to correct if you understand how to and be careful with it.
There is absolutely nothing more beautiful than a pristine, perfectly clear, glossy, Jet Black vehicle - it looks like a giant Black Hole Mirror coming down the road, swallowing everything in its path ! :)

Looks like you have purchased some great equipment - the 5" backing plate for the Rupes would be a great addition and will fit and work perfectly, according to some of the best in business that utilize and sell the Rupes line.. Of course, it would also require purchasing the smaller 5" pads as well..
With any machine, a smaller pad will always be easier to control and of course, less expensive..

If you can get the Washer modification, that will also help this machine work better for you too..

Good luck with your project ! I am sure it will turn out fine and be a very enjoyable experience..

Congrats! I've been looking into a 335xi for a DD as the jeep seems to be turning into more of a track car as time goes on. Can't really add too much more than what Dan said so I'l leave it at that!

Thanks! I got it with the 5" bp and matching pads, as I don't have any 6" pads for my GG. I look forward to beginning the correction this weekend if time allows.

I never even considered a BMW before I test drove one. The Audi I went to look at had been sold the day before, so I took it for a spin. Man am I glad that happened. Once spring time hits I plan on getting a jb4 tune, doing intake, piping, intercooler, and possible some downpipes just to help it all breath and run smooth. So far I am very happy with the car, and only look forward to enjoying it more scratch/swirl free!
