    Hi guys,

So today I was driving on the freeway and noticed that the car in front of me sprayed oil all over my white Gti through its exhaust fumes. I'm unable to wash the car until Monday because I am out of town (I was driving to the airport). It is suppose to be cloudy all weekend and possibly rain but its killing me that its on there and could possibly stain my paint. My car is currently protected with 22ple and sonax brilliant shine detailer. My question is, is this safe given the circumstances. Will a normal wash when I get back take it off with ease? I want to be able to take it off without stripping the protection.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Holden.

Start with something simple like APC diluted, move up to something like Tarminator or body solvent. Oil is not a hard thing to remove. Just re check the paintwork to make sure the protection is still there (not familiar with 22ple) but with most products some of the solvents in removing agents can remove the protection as well.

Thanks ill try this out and report back! I'm going to add about 3oz of af citrus to my foam cannon with Adams shampoo and see how much that helps. I'll step it up from there if needed.....

well if they use Dawn on baby ducks to remove crude oil, should be good for the car too LOL

Well the motor oil came off but it wasn't too easy. Pressure wash and a pre-soak with af citrus/adam's shampoo didn't do much if anything but I had to foam again and gently scrub with a meguiars mf wash mitt (keeping the mitt very sudsy as to not induce marring). Luckily my clear is hard. Some oil still remains on the lower half honeycomb grille but it isn't visible. That definitely will need something much harder to take off....the struggle of wanting to keep your daily driver as mint as possible.

Im right there with you............keeping my cars mint as possible is an obsession. Well try the Dawn, may take a few attempts

Try car pro eraser. I removes anything, but sure if strix off the protection.. maybe you can try so birds/insects remover, or car pro tax, it works for organic stuffs, which contains lot of carbons, so do oil.
